OH&S Regulations state that you are responsible for the safety of others in your work area.
Consider bill C-45, it is most likley that you are not in danger of being sued as long as you have a "direct supervisor" as they will likely be considered the party at fault per bill C-45. Also the plaintiff would likely sue the company you are working for due to the fact they will almost certainly have liability insurance (where as you may not have insurance, or any assets that would make it worth taking you to court) and because they will also be at least partially responsible to ensure that you are meeting OH&S requirements.
If you were more specific I could probably be more helpful, if you are self employed, get yourself some liability insurance. (umbrella policy) It's a real bargain compared to a 1 million dollar blindness, burn, fire, etc claim. |
