It's quite incredible that they have the exact same problems they did 2 playoffs ago vs. Boston with this lack of scoring. Only difference this year was the lack of goals during the regular season as well. They don't play a tight enough defense to nurse low scoring one goal leads but can't outscore their problems either. Yuck. It's a tough road moving forward. Posted via RS Mobile |
Fire MG hire Burke! :troll: The only GM who backs up the team from fans and media. |
Fuck, that post game interview from Kesler. The guy sounds like a real captain |
my night was suppose to be watch canucks win and listen to the feel good story of kesler announcing that he's in beast mode and proving it, smoke up with my friends, watch iron man 3. i did not of the above!!!!!! |
Your thoughts about the system that AV uses on this team? I agree with most of what my buddy thinks about the coach. His comments: I've seen enough of AV's stupid coaching techniques to know the team was ordered not to forecheck hard or go too deep into the Sharks zone after they got the 1 goal lead. You actually see the guys stay in stop and stay in front of Niemi and not chase behind throwing hits... Hansen goes in stops and then backs out... Thats a sign of a team trying to sit on and defend the 1 goal lead... 2 on 1, not to blame... Elder screwed up again, Bieksa missed the pass, Hansen missed an empty net... All moot points if they kept playing the way they did in the 2nd and first 10 minutes of the 3rd, they had SJ on down and and AV gave the order to take their take their foot off the gas and play defensive hockey..... Bottom line: You cannot win a Stanley Cup with Vigneault as your head coach. He does not play a winning system. Play defensive hockey for the last ten minutes of the third period? Where the heck is the killer instinct to get the third goal in the third period? Step on the Sharks' neck! Don't just defend a lead! Gillis should think about hiring a new head coach. Gillis also deserves some of the blame too for this mess. This GM did not find a way to add goal scoring depth to our second and third lines. David Booth is known for hunting animals than for scoring goals. Kassian just does not have the offensive skillset to be a top 6 forward now. |

No puck moving d-man = fail in this league. Letting go Ehroff was the dumbest thing ever, especially keeping Bieksa over him. It's evident how a puck moving d-man can radically change your offence. See Dan Boyle, or ever other playoff team in the NHL currently. :lawl: |
edler is supposed to be out puck moving d :( supposed to be our everything d |
Edler  watching everyone aside from Kesler and Luongo choke today was pretty painful. |

I cannot calm down at how fucking HORRIBLE Edler was last night... I understand the desperation, but how the fuck can he not read that all the forwards were deep in the SJ zone and out of position... The fact that Juice was able to keep up on that 2 on 1 was amazing on it's own since he looked slow out there... Something needs to be done, as someone said above, reducing Edler's minutes is the start. Ebbett is fucking useless, but one cannot blame him. How the hell do you expect the twins to score if they have to start play from their own end... yea our faceoffs % sucks, but the more time the twins gets to start in the offensive end, the better the chances are for us and the ice time means a lot more. its an advantage with the last change. |
Yeah, AV needs to get back to the twins starting in the offensive zone as they have through their whole careers. That's a big part of what has made them successful. I woke up still depressed. Posted via RS Mobile |
Well since recently the Canucks are known as combo breakers, perhaps it will work in their favour and they'll come back from being down 0-2 for the first time in franchise history  |
May as well slot in Ballard at this point, whether it be for Alberts or Corrado. Alberts had a pretty bad game as well, was caught out of position on more than one occasion. I say it's time Ebbet is bumped from the lineup - what replaces him, pick your poison. Schroeder to play on the 3rd with Hansen and Raymond like earlier this year, or throw someone else on the fourth line so that the fourth line can actually play more than 3 minutes and throw some body checks. Higgins - Kesler - Roy Sedin - Sedin - Burrows Raymond - Schroeder - Hansen Weise - Lapierre - Kassian Hamhuis - Garrison Edler - Bieksa Ballard - Alberts Lou Cannata I also wouldn't totally be opposed to trying Kassian with the Sedins again. He had some good shifts with the Sedins, and this is a problem: Quote:
