Anyone going?

Going to do a road trip with a couple of friends for a weekend.

What to expect?
Where to go?
What's good?

Been plenty of times, never a dull moment and one of the best events you will ever go to in Canada.

What to expect? expect to see some of the hottest women running around, alot of them are drunk or getting drunk.

Where to go? just follow the trail of hot women getting drunk at any establishment.

What's good? any place where you see a croud of hot women gathering around getting wasted.

Oh,the stampede itself is cool too.

Calgary Stampede 2012 Party and Event Guide seems to have all the parties.

make sure to eat all the BBQ pork/beef you can.

friend of mine won a free west jet vacation when i was there - so spin the wheel at all west jet booths!

I will be attending, and eight of my buddies will be coming from Vancouver. It is the 100 year anniversary, so I imagine it will be pretty nutty. First time going. Book a hotel ASAP, as most are filling up and they are jacking the prices up.

I'm just trying to confirm the number of how many of my friends will be going. Then I'm going to book a hotel asap.

Are the events near the airport? I'm currently looking on hotwire for rates and best value seems to be by the airport.

I am going there for the whole 2 weeks lol. Already book my plane and a place to stay. Not sure where to party exactly. Hope it will be fine.

Hotels are hell expensive lol so I look on kijiji and find a decent room to stay during the two weeks.

Stampede is only fun if your white. Youll experience some racism out there.

Calgary has tons of spare hotel rooms available because of the over-development leftover from the 88 olympics. Dont trust those websites telling u theres no vacancy. They only want you to think there's no room because they want you to pay "premium" price.

trust me .i've worked out there for 3 years

There is racism everywhere in this world, name one place on this planet that does not have any racist people.

I have been to the stampede plenty of times,I never experienced any racism, then again I went with a mix of all races,it might have been different if I went with all asians.

The laugh Factory is always pretty good, Been there a few times. Try to look it up and see if anyone well known is going to be there... I always find a way to have a good time out there just need to look around for some entertainment. I miss my one cent wings and 5 dollar pints at the kilt and Caber in SE Calgary, Walking distance of my dads house :P

Yes there's a lot more hicks in Calgary and you here about the odd white supremcy march, but there's racism everywhere.

^hats are everywhere at the stampede, and experienced stampede dozen times since I was a kid. No racism, not sure what u guys are talking about, but yeah taking the sea train (their skytrain) to the stampede takes forever, I'd rather get a ride there or taxi in, just a tip for u guys =)

So flannel shirt, boots, boot cut jeans, and cowboy hat. Maybe a buckwheat in my mouth to top it all off?

Thats crazy people travel all the way from here to go to the stampede. A 2 hour drive from my house my whole life and I only went once. LOL at the racism comment though. Since I went with a bunch of friends of various races, I can tell you we certainly weren't the victims of "racist cowboy attacks"

Racism? Wtf are you talking about? Maybe once in a blue moon, but as a Calgarian Asian that lived there for 25+ years, being concerned about racism is the dumbest thing ever.
