Is BestBuy Mobile Product Exchange Plan any good ?

Just curious is it worthwhile to spend $ 15.00 per month for 3 years for this plan ?

yeah i think its a scam....but my gf did get the plan which i said she shouldn't but the employee insisted it was a good idea...so after she got her BB 9900 she wanted to exchange it with an iPhone 4s so she went in to best buy (metro town) tried to exchange it but they wouldn't let her until she bitched to the GM which made the best buy mobile employees change her phone after she paid the difference of the two phone which was 50 bucks

Although I wouldn't personally spend a monthly fee on a warranty for a phone...I think it's a rip off...you and your girlfriend don't understand the concept of a Product Exchange Plan.

A Product Exchange Plan does not entitle you to a new phone when you decide you want to switch over. It simply means, that WHEN the product is defective, they won't repair the phone, they'll simply give you a new one. And I use the term "simply" in the lightest possible sense because I'm sure they'll try have a 100 reasons why an exchange isn't warranted.

LOL...I find it so amusing when consumers like you and your girlfriend go on a raging rampage over something that YOU don't understand.

How does a Product Exchange Plan (PEP) work? - Best Buy Canada

Do a little research into what you are buying next time rather than blindly buying something without understand how it works. It's people like you that end up getting suckered into these plans.

Also, Gomsce, in 3 years, you will end up spending over $500 on this warranty. For that much money, you could buy a new phone.

Buying warranty on things like phones is just a waste of money imo. You'll end up with a few dents and scratches here and there but nothing too major. If it happens to break down you still have the one year manufacturer's warranty. If you don't want dents etc just get a case, I've dropped my phone many times and all it did was scratch the screen protector.

It's a good plan if you like to constantly get new phones without having to pay for a new one each time. I have switched from a Blackberry 9800 to a iPhone 4 to the 4S to the HTX One X Now. I think it was pretty worth it for me
