Don't forget the Nismo lettering, bound to give you at least 10hp right there.

Need to order tires soon as well. Between direzza dII, Sdrives, Falken fk453. Trying to decide if Direzzas are worth the extra 200+ dollars. Any insight?

Assuming by "Direzza" you're referring to the Dunlop Direzza DZ101? If so, don't waste your money... They're a budget summer tire. Not ehm three worthy imho. FK453's are a bit better, however i'd still put a better tire on your car. What size(s) are we talking?

mb_ 02-12-2014 06:25 PM

^No he's not, Direzza II is the replacement for the DZ101.

No personal experience with FK453, Direzza ZII or S.Drives but it depends if you're after shaving seconds off the track, drivability, etc. I'm looking to get Direzza ZII's myself (hopefully this summer) but from what I've read, they're a bit harsher on the road but have TONS of grip.

Ahh, my mistake. I'd still pass on the falkens.

All I'm looking for is grip. Tread life doesn't matter, comfort matters even less, road noise? I drive a 15 year old car on coilovers. It sounds like a maraca anyways. DIIs are probably the best choice from what I've seen. I really was hoping to not have to spend 1200 bucks right away :okay: And I've had falken RT-615s which were awesome, and of course the 512/912s which were just TRASH. Never tried the fk452/53

knight604 02-12-2014 06:46 PM

No pss?

mb_ 02-12-2014 06:50 PM

$1,200 for ZII? Where are you shopping from and what size(s)? LOL

westopher 02-12-2014 06:54 PM

215/45/17, 235/40. After taxes, mounting, all that shit its around that locally. Getting 700 bucks of tires from the states works out to be about that too after duties, taxes and the grossly inflated shipping across the border. They are going around 1000 from 1010 tires but thats without mount and balance.

Too rich for my blood. At least for how minimally better they sound than the DIIs, also supposedly have softer sidewalls.

dared3vil0 02-12-2014 07:09 PM

If all you're looking for is grip, (and as you said the 615's are amazing) go for them! $811 shipped to your door all duty, taxes etc etc payed for, and you don't have to go down and pick them up.

My last wheel / tire package purchase was through 1010. It was expensive, no doubt but still ended up on par with purchasing through the US plus they took care of me because they underestimated the size of G8 studs:fullofwin:.

Also, that's what I get for buying 19s :okay:

I have the Falken 453's in a measly 205 width on my 325. They stick like glue. Mind you they were also my first straight summer performance tire. So take it with a grain of salt :p

DII's are really grippy but there was a bit of road noise and wore kinda quicker. After harsh testing i thought they performed pretty well on roads. They were pretty good in the wet too. haven't tried the falkens so i can't give my opinion on that :P.
