I usually end up playing with music and ignoring the commenting anyways. It's been the same thing over and over again for the past few years lol. |
probably same commentating, pre game intro, goal celebrations, in game animation etc. |

this year they added "OOOOHH Youll see that in the NHL highlight reel tonight" |
small thing but will they have goal songs added to this game? lol |

Well then....PASS on this game (for the 5th straight year...). EA can spend all this money refining the game mechanics, but they cant spend any more on commentators other than a guy who does colour for the Flyers (acceptable for me), and a guy who hasnt done ANY commentating for the NHL since BEFORE the lockout (that fact drives me up the fucking wall). I know I am nitpicking, but bad commentary just kills the overall feel of the game, despite the game mechanics being awesome. |
^lol |
You've passed on NHL 09, 10, 11, and 12 ... because of commentating ... ??? :fulloffuck: I could see passing on 10 and 12 because they didn't really make a lot of advances, but ... |
Oh no, I borrow them or buy them when they get outdated (ie. cheap), but it's like nails to a chalkboard when I play the game. It was fine until 09 came out, and then you find the commentary alone takes away from the game a bit. I'd knock the dust off my Gamecube copy of NHL 06 before I'd buy a Gary Thorne-commentated NHL game at full price. |
I know van19 never listens to the commentary. He blasts his music and ignores us |
^ LOL I've heard it enough, I play it on my computer screen so I dont plug in my speakers all the time because of it. And when I do, the commentary is so loud, it muffles your guys' voice. Is there an option to mute it |

i don't mind the commentary. I would love to get new commentators though but not a deal breaker for me. |
GM Connected info now available |
NHL 13 Be a Pro and EA SPORTS Hockey League Improvements | EA SPORTS I only included EASHL info in my post cuz offline bap is lame as fuck lol Spoiler! |
^Agreed. THe only thing I play in NHL is EASHL and sometimes versus/drop-in I like this match making. I only wish you can choose to set to find games in your region only or worldwide. Otherwise those late 2am games will be hard to find. |
It'd be super neat if they added a feature where you could map a photo to a players face. The options to create a player are vastly underwhelming. |

My preference was HUT -> EASHL -> VS The thing I hate about offline game modes is that the AI is so god damn easy to exploit lol. Drop-in is fun when you're playing with buddies, besides that it's pretty boring.. good for people who aren't in competitive nature. |
|
Don't they do the face thing for Fifa? |
I like this back out penalty. Too many pussy teams backing out. We won the elite championship last month. The next day when teams saw our banner, they immediately started quitting. Finally this home team advantage will be a thing of the past as well. So frustrating having teams back out at the matchup screen only to matchup with them again and they have home this time, they don't back out then. |
ultimate team hockey cards appear to not have training anymore https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10101298255841962 also EASHL overalls will be lower this year and for versus: 3rd line and 4th line players are going to be MUCH worse this year to seperate them from the 1st and 2nd line guys |
Love the new realistic replay angles and all. the ones before were TERRIBLE. Like that one where the camera is zoomed right at the puck and u can't see anything else. Wtf? |
Who actually plays HUT? I always hated training, anyways. Made the game way more complicated than it should be. They should get rid of contracts, career, injuries, chemistry, etc. Just keep it simple ... Buy cards, build team, play games. If you want something more in-depth, play GM Connected/Be a GM. How it should be: HUT = Simple team builder/cash grab (Casual fans) BaGM/GMC = Complex team builder (Hardcore fans) All the overalls in the game, for the most part, will be lower. They've overhauled how overalls are calculated (no longer calculated based on player type, thank god). They increased the range of "NHL calibre" attributes, so now an 80 is a good score in an attribute where last year an 80 was meh (everyone had 80s in almost everything) and they increased what the attributes mean (i.e. 80 shot accuracy is less accurate relative to a 90 shot accuracy this year than it was last year). |
