Calvin and Hobbes Before you C&H fans get all excited, no, this isn't me letting you all know that he's drawing comic strips again. :okay: I've simply been reading a lot of the old collector books I got when I was a kid (I actually have the super deluxe hardcover collection set, but I'm afraid I'll get it dirty :lol), and just wanted to share a few of the comics I enjoy. Feel free to add your own favourites! :woot: http://bycommonconsent.files.wordpre...ugar-bombs.gif http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_YkUojCCYpu...inhobbes07.gif http://www.artpatient.com/wp-content...an_dot_com.jpg http://reluctantmom.files.wordpress....bbes-faces.jpg 25 Great Calvin And Hobbes Strips - Progressive Boink |
Scientific progress goes "BOINK!" |
I got a book of them for xmas one year and I was like, "wtf?" Had never heard of Calvin and Hobbes. I started reading and it is seriously one of the most in tune gifts I ever received. And I found that I love the snowmen comics: http://calvinandhobbessnowmen.com/wp...besSnowmen.jpg http://lovelyhorribles.files.wordpre...12/chicken.gif http://www.offbeatearth.com/wp-conte.../12/calvin.jpg http://t1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:A...C5XSVqmdwoWj9g http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_9RZNcKeBuG...es-snowmen.gif http://t1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:A...JAFergAeTZ7fkw http://edge.ebaumsworld.com/mediaFil...1/80586723.gif http://creepsterinc.files.wordpress....pg?w=800&h=252 There was one where he mades snowman modern art that is just hilarious, but I can't find it. And of course, its ending...so sad. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_XmSxWfvnws...inal+strip.gif |
Thats not actually the last one, thats an "internet made up" version. If I remeber right the last one was calvin on a sled with Hobbes talking about life, cant remeber what book its in though. Edit: Aparently its not the interwebs that made it up, its from a washington post artical (?) but not a real strip. |
Really? I feel...so...jaded. Damn you 4chan! |
The real one is much more positive. Just google "real calvin and hobbes last strip". |
Yeah, the last one was him and Hobbes flying down a hill on a sled. If that was the real last strip, I would f'n cry. Calvin and Hobbes was such a great part of growing up in the late 80's/90's. |

There is just something so poignant and powerful about that last strip. Its like the whole world is just out there to explore. |

There was the Calvin and Hobbes hard cover collection selling for 100 bucks at Costco a few years ago. I hesitated to buy it and now it's gone. Fucck. |
http://www.amazon.com/The-Complete-Calvin-Hobbes-v/dp/0740748475 Around the same price as Costco one. |
I would buy it but don't want to pay $100 for something likely gonna be left in the washroom |
I grew up reading Calvin and Hobbes and I love it, I still have their books on my bookshelf, I re-read them every once awhile and they still crack me up ... |
I collected pretty much every book he produced when I was a kid. The're all still at my parents' place. This thread makes me want to get them and read them all again. |
|
i like the one where he gave hobbes to his daughter when he grew up. so sad. |

this has to be my favourite calvin and hobbes wallpaper http://static.fjcdn.com/large/pictur...df_3166745.jpg |
Was my favourite comic as a kid. I definitely made some non-traditional snowmen in my day :lol I have the last book 'It's a Magical World' and even an old tshirt that I used to wear as a PJ top when I was still a thumb-sucker. My mom tried to toss the shirt on me so many times I had to hide it. I'll keep them forever. http://images.productwiki.com/upload...ical_world.png |
