The old beemers are nice but I'm not from that generation and I'm not attached to the looks at all. I love the throaty sound of a v8. Makes me jimp. Anyways guys thanks for all the posts atleast I have an idea of other sport cars in the range.
Ok. What *I* would buy if my parents decided "hmmm, here's 15k, buy something to beat on, don't worry about the maintenance, we'll cover you", or if you are indeed ballin', would be something like this:

E55 (90's look):

Mercedes Benz E55 AMG

S500 w/Lorinser kit (probably a scam or has something really expensive that needs to fix, but hey):

2005 Mercedes benz S500 AMG Low k MDX RDX trade welcome

Another S500:

Mercedes S500 AMG 2000 Very Special Car

CL500:

benz CL 500 AMG,reduced prise to sell fast, clean,in/out. 604- 4333339

C5 with a "small accident":

2002 chevrolet corvette C5

Or even an 850i (the V12 one) with a the CSi kit:

1991 BMW 850i | Rare Factory CSI Body Kit

I'd grab something really fun if I didn't care about the money. Probably the 850i or the Lorinser S500 (if it's not a scam).

And I don't understand the hate. So what if the guy is daddy-funded? That's his problem. I had to work my ass off to buy my old 7-series, but I ain't hating on him. Geez, some people just seem like they're jealous or something.

I think the fact the guy has baller right in his screen name makes him a pretty fair target to be ragged on a bit.

if you can "easily afford" any maintenance, I would save up a bit more and just get an e46 M3

Never a huge fan of the 8 series styling. The Italians were always better at penning sports cars than the Germans, imo.

I personally love it. It's an affordable exotic, IMO. The maintenance isn't even terrible.

Its a 100k+ car, that is dropped to 10k prices, and it still looks like 100k+ car. Compare it to that CL up there. That was a 100k+ car that is about as boring to look at as a modern camry, and its probably about 10 years newer than the 8. The 8 series is a pretty timeless cult classic IMO.

not saying that's you for sure.. but shit that's what it sounds like.
Lol dude I invented the term "powered by mama" just for these kind of people so no I'm not that type of person but I understand where your coming from. I love the 8 series too but it's a heavy car. Not sure if it's alot of fun.

It comes with a 4.6 modular v8, not a 5.4, if thats what you were implying. Theyre slow, bad on gas and handle like what they are..boats.

You could buy my '03 S2000 when I'm back in Vancouver visiting. I'd sell it for 14k.
