Waterfront downtown parking

Anyone know any good/cheap places? Basically I gotta be in DT from 12-8 next few weeks. Thanks in advance!

Was going to just park at a metre and use my paybyphone app to keep renewing it but I think the limit is 2 hours?.. :concentrate:

The cheapest monthly parking is Impark at waterfront I think... Cost like $180 or something.

Is public transit a possibility from where you are and the travel time?
I don't drive to downtown very often, let alone park there... It's a nightmare for me

What I do with the paybyphone app is let it expire for a few mins and pay again.

Downside is, street parking or paying hourly or daily in a lot is going to cost a LOT... potentially up to twice as month as finding somewhere you can get weekly or monthly parking.

I remember when we were doing the new installs at Bentall Cactus, we parked at Bentall 5... max rate, $25/day. $125/week... ouch. Unreserved monthly parking is $250, so that's basically four+ weeks for the cost of two if you're paying daily.

Most lots will be similar.

if you want to save money, park along cambie and 49th area and train down.

this would be your safest bet to avoid a ticket

drunkrussian 07-09-2012 08:29 PM

you can find people renting out their spots on craigslist, as another option to consider

Tim Budong 07-09-2012 09:25 PM

its either rent a spot in and around the area, or park your car somewhere and train it

160 Water Street is 11 bucks max for 6am-6pm

If you have a SFU student pass by chance, you can try some of the designated SFU lots.
But if you're gonna be at Waterfront, I'd say the best thing to do is just drive to the nearest park 'n ride to you and transit down there.

Yep thats pretty much the best daily rate around here. As you get further toward georgia it goes up from $11 to $15 to $25

PYT 07-10-2012 11:17 AM

parking is a rip off period.

Anjew 07-10-2012 01:39 PM

coal harbor community centre parking is 12dollars 6am-6pm. entrance on jervis st between cordova and hastings

2 bucks an hour compared to 3 dollars for meter parking. There are also some parts on thurlow that are free to park after 6pm.

Matlock 07-10-2012 02:25 PM

If I'm going downtown by myself without much to carry I'll usually just park in Chinatown where it's free and walk all the way, even if it's as far as Denman st. It's actually not that long of a walk.

Otherwise, there are some secret free spots to park which I won't say. :)

InvisibleSoul 07-10-2012 03:50 PM

That area has the most expensive meter rates in the city... $6 per hour.

Everymans 07-10-2012 05:08 PM

Park at tinseltown. Free parking for movie patrons, but no one ever checks. I've parked there for two days once, no issues, and paying for parking there isn't too bad. Then walk your ass 5-6 blocks.

nlo 07-10-2012 06:17 PM

I hear of people parking at Metrotown and taking the train from there. Anyone here do that?
