What kind of evil people bring guns to a party, especially with children in attendance? This news makes me sick to my stomach.

Seen many shootings in the DTES? A whole ton of the stuff that happens there is related to drugs. Don't do or sell drugs? Don't worry so much.

i think DTES is fine.... walking around late super at night is okay. You guys are over reacting about it. No joke

a lot goes on down there that doesnt hit the news like stabbing/beating deaths, forced overdoses, etc most of its been taken off the streets and moved into the the run down buildings

there are shootings though they happen within those run down "hotels" and passerbys also get caught up in it at times because people are lured into one of those buildings (usually by a "hot" prostitute not the crackhead ones you see on the streets) and they get hooked/forced on drugs while their wallets get taken and credit/debit cards get used

gets written off as drug/derelict crime doesn't make major headlines but you see those cases make their way into the courthouse all the time (then there are those that dont even make it that far)

after all dtes was rated the worst ghetto in north america for a time there (before olympics)

If I were a girl, I'd be pretty hesitant to walk around the DTES late at night.

if you were a girl walking around at late night in that neighborhood, VPD would stop you b4 anything would happen. thats one of the most heavily policed neighborhoods in van. and a girl walking alone would stand out for them.
