Humans do a lot worse to each other everyday. What makes you think they will treat a lesser species any better?

fuck, this is some depressing news to hear

RIP doggy, at least you dont need to put up with this bullshit cruel world anymore.

Hondaracer 07-20-2012 08:20 AM

Honestly with injuries so severe like this it probaby should have been put down right when they found out it had spinal cord issues, IMO once a dog goes through Somthing like this, while the "humane" thing to do is try to save him, a dogs life is so short they never recover emotionally or physically from Somthing like this, they are essentially damaged goods and in alot of ways it's sadder to live out its life in constant fear

jaemc 07-20-2012 08:58 AM

RIP pup.

racerman88 07-20-2012 08:59 AM

RIP poor dog. Nothing should be treated like that

BaoTurbo 07-20-2012 10:50 AM

RIP. You're in Dog Heaven now :)

So I finished reading everything in this thread and caught up-to-date on the situation with the dog. Being a dog owner, and just a human, this is absolutely horrible stuff to hear. I decided to do my ethical theory paper on this incident to demonstrate why this tragic event was morally wrong. That is pretty easy to explain but does anyone have any suggestions to a counter argument of how this is justified? I hate the thought of it even being just, but I want to make my argument about this being morally unacceptable stand out against it being morally justified. Any tips or suggestions please feel free.

RIP Pup you didn't deserve this

Not that I would agree with any of these points, but I would imagine:

1. Euthinism (spelling)
2. Maybe the owner doesn't want the dog living in a confined space (apartment)
3.. I can't think of any other ideas, that shit was just unacceptable

This is so sad to hear. RIP German Shepherd... :(

While there is no way to justify why the dog was wrapped in a blanket and dumped into the trash bin when it was still alive, we don't know the full story about how the dog got these injuries so I can't see how you can write this paper.
For all we know, the dog was hit by a car and the owner decided it was cheaper to toss the dog in the dumpster than to take him to the vet.

There was an article in the Province that said the previous owner came out and said he bought the dog from the RCMP only to find out the dog was completely deaf and sold the dog to the new owner for $250.

Poor doggy. RIP. you are in doggy heaven chasing balls and all the bones you can eat.

weird, wouldn't that kind of information be disclosed when the RCMP sold the dog off? of all people selling dogs, i would have imagined RCMP being more responsible and making sure potential owners know what they are getting into.

xilley 07-22-2012 06:39 PM

fucking pricks

Not sure. Just retelling what was posted in the newspaper.

This is the latest article and it says the dog was badly dehydrated and beaten.
Animal lovers want justice for Kits dog found in dumpster; vigil planned for Wednesday

This is the other article that said Captain was deaf.

Former owner of German shepherd found in dumpster comes forward

PiuYi 07-23-2012 12:57 AM

In other news, an 8 year old girl was petting dogs in Stanley Park to raise money in honour of Captain. All proceeds go to SPCA. She charged 50 cents a pet and raised good money apparently

too bad i can't find the article.. saw it on the news though

Really terrible stuff. I have a really hard time with things like this. While most people think that the vigil for the dog was overkill I think it was a great way to bring the community together to say that we won't stand for this type of behavior. Shows that there are decent humans still out there. Certainly better than breeding hate towards whoever committed this horrible act. They'll get theirs 'cause karma is a muthafucker.

RIP Captain =(

Instead of doing your paper on a case that is still under ongoing investigation, maybe you could do it on that sled dog case that happened in whistler a couple of years ago.

Just a suggestion.

RIP doggy. :( I'm sorry that our kind puts your kind through so much.
