Posted the story on my Facebook, others should do the same.

Someone in Vancouver will notice a friend's or neighbor's German Shepard has mysteriously vanished, if they are aware of this story, hopefully they will make the connection and report the former owner(s) to the SPCA to face prosecution.

poor dog =(

twitchyzero 07-18-2012 06:11 PM

come on if the vet bill is gonna cost an arm and a leg and the owner cant afford it...why not just give up the dog to SPCA instead of letting it rot to death?

or the very least give it to spoon ek on revscene

The BC SPCA is investigating after a badly injured German shepherd was left to die in a dumpster near Kitsilano Beach.

The two-year-old dog had serious cuts to his face and neck and was wrapped in a bloody blanket when a couple discovered him in the 1400-block of Maple Street shortly before noon Wednesday.

Marcie Moriarty, general manager of cruelty investigations for the SPCA, said the animal was also found bruised and underweight, and a probe has been launched to find out what happened.

“We have identified the owner and are working, with the assistance of the Vancouver police, to determine how the dog sustained the injuries and who is responsible,” Moriarty said in a statement.

The dog’s injuries appear to have occurred within the past 24 hours, Moriarty added.

SPCA constables pulled the dog out of the dumpster and rushed him to a critical care animal hospital for treatment, but it’s unclear whether the animal can be saved.

Moriarty says it’s too soon to draw conclusion but more details will be released as they become available.

That's crazy. The SPCA should put the scumbag into a dumpster. If the bum doesn't want to own and care for that dog, then don't buy it!!!

That German Shepherd needs a loving owner ASAP.

Good news!

A different article posted earlier today stated that they had not confirmed the identity of the owner.

spoon.ek9 07-18-2012 07:03 PM

man... who the hell does shit like this? absolutely terrible. i'm jumping to conclusions, but the only reason to dump the dog in a dumpster is to try and hide what's happened. i'm really hoping it isn't the owner who did this to the dog, but i doubt that's the case.

westopher 07-18-2012 07:15 PM

People who lived in the complex said the dumpster could only be opened by a key holder, and the owner of the dog lived in the complex according to the news so............Not looking too fucking good for the owner. I hope they are going to be punished severely if they are found responsible (how they couldn't be found responsible I can't comprehend) This was fairly close to me apparently too. Very disgusting.
