Husky's need a colder environment as well or kept cool at hot temperature. I was in Downtown with le gf one hot summer afternoon and a Husky mix was overheating, so the owner had to bring her in London Drugs to cool down so it wouldn't overheat, but the manager refused to let them stay because of hygeine issues. So if you get a Husky, that is something to consider as well. |
:tears: ive always wanted a husky but dont have time to take care of one hope they go to a good home! |
i want to adopt one so bad... my house is the perfect environment for a husky but i'm leaving in december for work and then the dog will have to stay with the gf at a much smaller place. fffuuuuuuuuuuuu |
i know a thing or two about huskies :smug: so far i've never had this "howling" issue. i take mine for walks and runs almost every day and even use my scooter to help burn off some energy. as far as affection, they are really selective about who is their pack leader and stick to one person more often than not. they are gorgeous dogs but many people just don't realize how much exercise they need. if you don't give them a good run/walk, they will destroy things in the home. trust me on that one. |
So guys, We are located near the telus building on kingsway. PM me your contact info if you guys wanna meet them! |

The food bank will give him the dog food to feed the dog. And you know he doesn't have to go to work so he can spend all his time with the dog. One thing I noticed is those homeless people have some of the best mannered pets cause they can spend all that time with the animal. |

there are definitely some pros for homeless people caring for dogs. i do like the fact that they can spend all of their time with the dog and that the dogs generally have a ton of exposure with other people and animals so they are well socialized. the cons would be a lack of clean, warm shelter and proper grooming/bathing (this is very important for hygienic purposes, not just looks). there's no arguing that many homeless people keep a dog around to gain sympathy which is just plain wrong. i've also seen many of them with puppies (sometimes an expensive, pure bred) and brand new leashes it makes you wonder... :suspicious: |
I want to take one of them! :( I miss my old dogs :( |

You don't have a clue who I am so shove your 95% where it belongs, I got a full size backyard and a two block walk to a dog park among two other parks in the area... The OP says it's a Husky MIX so maybe it's not a full size Husky how do you even know, that's why I asked. I get it's a big dog and it has to be cared for a lot more than most due to it's hard working nature. It was just a simple question. :suspicious: |
very cute puppies. For ppl who are interested, just remember that these dogs do shed a lot. So be prepared for lots of fur and they need to be walked a lot too. If you are not prepared for this, then reconsider. It is only fair to the dogs. |
I have a friend that might be able to help out |
^ it's also shedding all year long, not seasonal :lol they are lots of fun though. whoever owns these puppies next needs to have an active lifestyle. |
+1 Huskys are great dogs if you can train them right. My neighbor had a Siberian Husky that was under-exercised and he started howling all day and night. He wasn't house trained so he was left outside under a covered area. Annoyed every neighbor around to the point that SPCA came and everything. They had no time to take him around for long walks so i went and took the dog out every other day for a walk/bike ride. Awesome fun and i got looks from everyone that passed by. Literally in 20 minutes 3-4 girls came over and asked if they could pet him. :fullofwin: |
bad owners let their dogs have puppies without a plan. |
