Don't think my Pat has been on YouTube... I used to post a fair bit on jeeppatriot.com though.

Try the Callaghan Valley - turn off the highway at the Whistler Olympic Park, then watch for the turnoff to Callaghan Lake.

All my Jeep trips so far have been on the original Goodyear Wrangler SR-A's. Most of what's been posted so far are fairly well-travelled forestry roads and as such really aren't that extreme on tires. You certainly don't need big mudders or anything.

callaghan lake is good.

go pick up a copy of the back roads map book it'll show you everything.

tires wise you should be ok with your all season tires.

all terrains would be nicer though.

Check the map alongside the Picasa album - pins where each picture was taken. Switch to satellite view and zoom in and you should be able to see it: there's a turnoff that should be marked for the snowmobiliing area, where you cross over the creek right above the falls. Just keep following that.
https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/albu...6165391729#map

A great site for this sort of thing is bivouac.com - it's not fancy, but it has a lot of detailed info on 4x4, hiking, skiing, snowmobiling, and other such trails. A paid subscription gets you full downloadable GPS tracks and a lot of other goodies. Try NameSrch.asp -> also Callaghan Lake

ClubTread.com - hiking bc and trail database for Canada - club tread is a good offroading site too.

Actually, if you want some really fucking cool maps... go to http://maps.gov.bc.ca - scroll down to "Base Mapping and Trim" and download the Google Earth .kml file. Load that shit up and make sure to check the box for "Transportation". That will show you every. single. road. anywhere. in. bc. Every Forest Service Road is there... including the Callaghan Lake road (although it's not labelled). It shows you every trail into the clear-cut areas as well, splitting off the main FSR. The "Base Mapping" checkboxes add thing like elevation lines, watersheds, points of interest, all sorts of cool stuff.

This.

Well worth the $20 or whatever it was. Always kept it in my Cherokee, was super handy in finding some nice spots that weren't too far from home.

And I know this should be obvious advice, but any of you guys who haven't been out on the trails much, or havent really pushed the limits of your rig, PLEASE god don't go out by yourself.

I knew this, but decided to go out by myself anyway, with no passengers, one Sunday when I was bored... long story short, I got buried up to my doors before I knew what happened. I was beyond stuck. Talk about humbling. That was a long, looong day.

FSR's are pretty tame, and going out alone generally isn't that bad of an idea, just STAY ON THE ROAD. Resist the urge to go play

off east harrison?

theres cogburn beach which will be party central if you go on a weekend. weekday is usually better if you want some peace and quiet.

theres also a beach just past the logging camp. have to drive through a really tight trail to get at it but shouldnt be hard in your truck. be prepared for lots of pin striping lol.

i found a nice stretch of beach off of silver river that i camped on. lots of mosquitos but i think if i had moved my camp up the beach away from the shrubs i woulda been ok.
