Bug-A-Salt

I just found this online and am really considering buying one.
It would be an impulse purchase, but it looks like it could be fun.

Not bad for $30 with shipping.
BugASalt- The Final Push -- Indiegogo

Has anyone here bought one of these yet?

Hong Kong is actually a part of China but also not. There is a lot of debate on it actually after British colonialsm left Hong Kong, but they are under China currently. However, a lot of people actually look at Hong Kong not a part of China based on the culture, currency, traditions, and population. Hong Kong is more of a Laissez-faire economy due to British reign; the government does not take part in economic affairs much. Whereas China is obviously communist economy and government structure. Thats all that I know to my understanding.

optiblue 07-21-2012 05:50 PM

Nice!

trollface 07-21-2012 06:30 PM

So instead of having a fly, fly around my food. Now I have salt and a dead fly sitting directly in my food.

Sounds good.

Shorn 07-21-2012 06:32 PM

wouldn't you have to clean up the salt too? i mean in household use..
sounds like a major drawback to me.

racerman88 07-21-2012 06:50 PM

I guess that is geared to the gun guys. The bug zapper just won't do anymore

yray 07-21-2012 07:46 PM

big fucking deal, a picture was taken in HK vs China

For the last 35 years Hong Kong was the place to get plastic toys made; now instead of making it in Kwun Tong, they moved the factories to China but with offices in HK. Unless you speak mando, best place to order products would be in HK.

AzNightmare 07-21-2012 07:53 PM

So did he purposely make them look like a Nerf gun with the exact same colour scheme??
:suspicious:

That and, you just don't refer to it as "China" unless it's for marketing purposes. When you visit, you don't tell people "I'm going to China". People from Hong Kong don't say "I'm from China".

It works for marketing purposes though, for instance UFC has been claiming for years that they are entering the "Chinese market" but they haven't set foot in mainland China (and probably never will). The best they can do is exist in their various "authoritative regions" like Macau, Hong Kong, and Mongolia. Technically they can say "look, we do business in China! What a huge market we are entering!" even though they really aren't, and probably never will be able to.

So technically, yes, it's "in China" but only as a technicality. I don't get offended when someone doesn't know any better, but when people do, and use it for marketing, it only spreads the ignorance, and that is something I am strongly against. Knowingly misguiding people is a major pet peeve of mine.

yray 07-21-2012 10:12 PM

So why did I get failed? People get their panties in a knot because I refer to Hong Kong as China?

Hong Kong is part of China, it is undeniable. It may have a different political system, but every Hong Kong citizen is a citizen of People's Republic of China. What does it say on your HKID card, what does it say on your HKSAR passport.

People's Republic of China

What's keeping Hong Kong apart from China? 290 billion USD in foreign currency reserve held by the monetary authority. Without that PRC government will walk its ass into Legco if it isn't doing that already.

Ferra 07-23-2012 09:46 AM

everytime I go back to Hong Kong, it feels more and more like China lol

(e.g. all the stores greet me in mandarin, I see more mainland chinese people around when I go to parks and other places...)

SkinnyPupp 07-23-2012 10:02 AM

You must look like a mainlander and only go to the tourist places then :fuckthatshit:
