Going to be a party pooper, but realisticaslly, a light saber is just way too dangerous to have.
And you are kind of limited with the kind of things you can do with it in the real world.
Unless you're a hired hitman or something, I don't see when there will be a time to do all that cool stuff seen in star wars...

That being said, I don't skateboard, so I'll personally take a light saber just because. But I would just store it in a glass display and not be doing all those crazy things some of you guys have in mind. Also to note, Hoverboards will be an awesome addition to skaters around the world. Lightsabers will probably be illegal to own... except in USA.

As SkinnyPupp mentioned, yeah, I stole this from The Totally Rad Show, a podcast I recommend if you were born in the early '80s.

I'd pick lightsaber because...1.) it's a fucking lightsaber and 2.) I don't ride a skateboard now so I wouldn't use a hoverboard if it existed. I'd have one for sure but only to have and say, hey, check it out...hoverboard.

And you guys are thinking you have to fight crime and shit with a lightsaber? No, I'm just going to use it to carve turkey or open envelopes or whatever.

There was a video on YouTube about some experimental floating shit...I remember asking why we don't have hover boards yet because well, it looked like you could at least make a cool floating train. But lightsaber technology...you're stopping light in a SHAPE in an intense enough focus so that the energy can cut things. Think about that for a second. You're telling light energy to stop for no reason....
