^ Depends on what you get for $140. You should ask what the service comes with. For my dog $85 was for basic neutering, no extra stuff (no buster collar, or IV). I decided to get him laser neutered, which was an extra $68 ontop.

Yea, be wary of any vets wanting to keep your friend overnight. They always make small issues seem extremely serious. I've had one vet suggested keeping mine overnight because he was having normal diarrhea. We never gone back. They're still emailling us. :rofl:

made an appointment at newton animal hospital its 180+ tax

The lady on the phone said he has to stay the night and that they do a check up before the surgery

Which vet did you go to? My dog needs to be neutered and I was looking into laser because its less painful/faster recovery (less swelling).

I had my pouch neutered at BCSPCA Vancouver for around $100, after the Yaletown clinic wanted $300 for it :fuckthatshit:

We made an appointment, dropped him off and was done by the afternoon. and the people there are extremely nice. My buddy was quite happy (even though a little dazed from the anaesthesia). The wound took 2 weeks to heal. We bought the collar (optional) to be safe but he wasn't bothered by it so we took it off after 2 days.

They also tattooed him, but was nice enough to do it on the inside of one of his ear (floppy ears) so it wasn't visible.

No overnight stay for him, and I decided against IV's and all the extra stuff. He was super groggy for the rest of the day, and was his usual (less) bouncy self the day after. I got nothing but death looks from him for the week.

His healing time was super quick. Ten days, and the sutures had healed up completely.

What's the benefits of the IV's and all that stuff? just upsell by the vet or an actual medical advantage? Just curious because my dogs small (yorkie), don't want anything bad to happen :okay:

More of an emergency thing. If something happens mid-surgery, they would be able to administer medication quicker through an IV.
