camera on royal oak and kingsway

so..coming home today from new west, I was driving along kingsway and almost missed my turn on royal (taking a right) at the same time the street light turned Yellow. So i signaled for a right and made my turn anyways.

but then the camera flashed twice. I looked around and no one ran a yellow light what so ever.

So was the camera flashing at me? I thought your allowed to take right turns even on red light.

and before anyone asked if I was speeding, no I wasnt. I couldve stopped safely for the yellow light.

The furthest right lane still goes straight so the red light camera is still triggered even if you made a right turn, most likely you will not get a ticket though.

for these red light cameras, they do individually assess them so I think you should be fine

then Id be dead by now, who doesnt stop when turning right.. I stop but not before the lane, I usually end up a bit further to get a view of the traffic coming from the other lane. which I believe its what everyone does..?

and just to say it again, it was a yellow light when i got flashed, whats why I made the thread asking if theres a camera for no right turn on yellow/red light, OR did I trigger the camera because if the white lane is ran over they assume that someone is running a yellow/red light through the intersection.

+1.

Apparently the cameras take 2 pictures in the process and they look at both to see what you were doing. If they see you turning then its okay.

Same thing happened to me, but I "ran the red."

Was approaching an intersection to turn right, could see that the opposing lane had a left turn signal (i.e. no cars going into lane I'm turning into), so I slowed down but didn't completely stop at my red, and turned right.

Flash went off twice, but no ticket in the mail.

Needless to say I was scared and now I stop fully =p

I think you're safe OP
