ok i go the shaw wireless modem/router.
however my Samsung phone gets shit all wifi reception for some reason unless im in the same damn room.
i have a few wireless routers sitting around and wondered if theres someway i can just plug them into the extra ethernet ports on the shaw router, and make a couple of new wireless networks?

Yep, you sure can. Just make sure to disable DHCP on the other wireless routers.
Also, don't use the WAN port on the other wireless routers. Connect both routers using LAN ports.
You can use the same wireless SSID if you want. Try to put the access points on different channels though.

If you use the same SSID, just make sure the channel is different.

Or you could call Shaw and ask them to put the modem into bridge mode (i.e., modem only) and plug in your own router like you would have with a Shaw cable modem 2-3 years ago.

Maybe try updating the kernel/radio rom on your GNote. Those have known to have the ability to improve wifi reception. I find that bigger gain antennas don't really do much.

or you can buy a custom antenna and replace the one that came with your equipment TP-Link TL-ANT2408C Omni Directional Indoor Wireless Antenna 2.4GHZ 8DBI - TP Link - TL-ANT2408C
unless you are in need to repeat that signal for a huge house, getting that is good enough in most cases.
you can price match it with ncix for a lower price too. use shopbot

I had Shaw disable my wifi/routing features on my Cisco. That way I can use my own wireless router which is better in every way.
If you go this route just call them up and tell them you want your modem set to bridge mode. Not sure if you can do this with the SMC version.
