X2/First Class are tied for best X-Men movie IMO. First Class would be No.1 had it had more badass action and badass Wolverine and better supporting characters.

The Mansion fight scene in X2 is the best scene in the franchise.

I hated the fact that they centered around Wolverine so much in the first X trilogy while butchering important characters like Cyclops and Storm. But I still love Hugh Jackman as Wolverine.

That said I can pretty much guarantee that this won't be another Wolverine-centered movie like all the rest. Professor X and Magneto will still be at the forefront.

Regarding "Days of Future Past," Jackman says he "first heard about it around October or November [2012]. I was literally finishing 'The Wolverine' and dreaming about lasagna, and about three weeks before the end, they told me." The role is large and will reunite him with many of the original cast. "There was no way I was not going to be part of that."

He added that he has not read the finished screenplay and has only seen a synopsis of about eight pages long.

The trade notes that shooting on X-Men: Days of Future Past will start in mid-April in Montreal. After that, Jackman wants to be home with his family in New York's West Village for a while.

As we reported yesterday, "Game of Thrones" actor Peter Dinklage has been added to the cast of X-Men: Days of Future Past. The initial announcement by director Brian Singer gave us no details about which character he would be playing in the film. Many speculated that he would play the dwarf member Alpha Flight, Puck, but Variety is now reporting that the role Dinklage has landed is the film's main antagonist, which leaves the 'Puck' theories out in the cold.

Nothing is filmed in Vancouver any more. Our tax breaks caused the TV and movie industry to leave. I have friends in the industry and they have or will move away.

Vancouver use to have anywhere between 30-50 projects running at any given time. Now we are down to 6 projects and 4 of those projects will leave at the end of this season.

I'm not surprised that this is being shot in Montreal, since Wolverine 2 is being shot in Ontario.

Today, MTV Geek is reporting that a source of theirs claims Dinklage has been cast as Bolivar Trask, the creator of the mutant-hunting Sentintels. This is by no means a confirmation on the actor's role, so treat this as a rumor for now. If true, it does present a few problems for director Bryan Singer (who claims to be using "Days of Future Past" as a way to "fix" the continuity of the X-Men films) because Trask appeared in X-Men: The Last Stand, played by actor Bill Duke.

I love X-Men movies. Every time I watch them, I secretly wish I have a chance to commit some superhero-esque act in real life and have people commemorate me for it. :')

"Ellen Page returns as Kitty from the Brett Ratner–directed X-Men: The Last Stand, but this time she uses her powers to send Hugh Jackman's Wolverine back into the past, where he encounters the younger mutants played by James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, and Michael Fassbender. However, something bad happens to Kitty during the time-travel trance, and while Wolverine is still under her spell, the other X-Men must race to find a mutant who can siphon Kitty's powers and bring their friend back to the future."

I agree. Wolverine's a bad ass and everything but how many movies do we need with him as the lead... It takes away the appeal of other mutants

Culverin 07-15-2013 03:02 PM

WTF

First Class should have just wiped the slate clean and started fresh.

They are trying to shoe-horn in the original movies as the same universe and the same actors. It's ridiculous.

Compare all the other Superhero movies to the MCU.
Marvel took their time, retconned the Hulk movie and takes their characters seriously.

The other movies are either full of cheese, or tries to fit in far too much.

DanHibiki 07-15-2013 03:21 PM

I like that they are doing this actually. It's of epic proportions.

I just don't like another "wolverine and his fellow xmen" movie.

^ same. I'm sure I won't like this "wolverine and his team" movie just like how I didn't like "Iron Man and his groupies".

Read an article that they're expanding the X-Universe. I think it all starts with Days of the Future Past.

Because the timeline is already FUBAR (2 beasts, dead Cyclops, wtf Deadpool, etc.) I think the time travel in the next movie is going to reset the universe.

They already said they are looking into X-Force movie (Cable woot!). I'm kinda excited and it gets rid of some of the dead weight from the messed up timeline.

Agreed. Just watched First Class this past weekend and story was pretty intriguing. But was it just me or did the visual effects for First Class look kinda dated/fake? X1 and X2, even though older, seemed to have nicer effects.

Also the Nightcrawler opening scene in X2 blew my mind when I first saw it.

Ya the X-Force movie is in early production which is awesome.

The great thing bout x-men is that mutants are a race filled with interesting mutant characters. It really doesn't do it justice to ony make x-men movies if u think about it. I'm glad they are doing this.

God damn. Marvel Studios and the Avengers really started something.

What I'm curious about is how Sony will expand their Spider-Man universe and whatever other marvel properties they had. Is it even possible?

While 20th Century Fox prepares for their Hall H panel at SDCC, the press got a chance to chat with actor Hugh Jackman. One very interesting topic of discussion was how Logan evolves from the beginning of The Wolverine to the end of it.

First off, Jackman says that Logan is approximately 200 years old during The Wolverine and is battling his own immortality. However, the Logan that is seen at the beginning of the film is not the same as at the end of the movie.

What this exactly means remains to be seen, unless you've already seen an early screening of it. Jackman also alluded to the fact that the Logan at the end of The Wolverine is the same seen at the beginning of next summer's X-Men Days of Future Past.
SDCC 2013: Hugh Jackman Quickly Teases WOLVERINE in X-MEN DAYS OF FUTURE PAST

Quote:

ox shocked the media at their press conference when they walked out the entire main case of next summer's X-Men Days of Future Past. Everyone from Hugh Jackman to Patrick Stewart to Michael Fassbender to Jennifer Lawrence were there with everyone else who plays a major role too!

One of the biggest questions surrounding the next X-Men movie is who the time traveler is and that has now been confirmed to be Wolverine.

"Kitty is the one who sends someone back in time and so as people will see... Wolverine goes back in time," said Days of Future Past writer Simon Kinberg.

Director Bryan Singer went into a bit more detail regarding next summer's time traveler.

"Basically the notion is Hugh of the future is sent … his conscienceness... is sent into his younger self [and] Hugh gets to play both parts because he is ageless," Singer said.

In the comics it is Kitty who takes a trip back into the mind of her younger self but this adapted version has Wolverine and it just makes sense since he is Fox's X-Men poster boy. Now fans have to wait until the first trailer for X-Men Days of Future Past is released and should hope they'll also get a first glimpse of the Sentinels.

Again. Please don't be too centered on Wolverine.

SkinnyPupp 07-20-2013 08:16 PM

What's with Wolverine with graying hair? I thought he didn't age?

DanHibiki 07-20-2013 08:32 PM

He ages slowly.
Posted via RS Mobile

SkinnyPupp 07-20-2013 08:36 PM

Really... does he to lose his powers slowly as he ages too?

Haven't read comics since the 90's so my memory is a bit foggy

StylinRed 07-20-2013 10:08 PM

they changed it since dofp came out back then he was just supposed to be slightly older while the rest were old/dead

but since then they made him like hundreds of years old with that wolverine origins mini-series
