Beautiful images from Mars, wow

Seems like it could be a piece of the landing gear itself... or a meteor?

People are speculating its a handle to a hatch.

The picture is from the series "Lost" in which one of the mystery's early on was why there is a hatch on the island. The picture depicts the first moment they opened the hatch.

Most likely yes, that's what they will do I'd imagine. However Mars surface does seem a bit difficult to traverse.

I have a feeling they have already done this. But, they haven't released the pictures/video yet. They probably want to do their own analysis of it.

They should have put that 10000 mega pixel camera on that rover so we could see more detail

Cost of London Olympics: $14.5 Billion
Cost of sending Curiosity to Mars: $2.5 Billion
