have you ever owned a rotary? babying it is the LAST thing you want to do.. you want to beat on that thing like a redheaded stepchild.

Sorry, what I meant by babying was doing more frequent oil changes on the engine since muck would build up faster, and yup, you gotta redline daily on that engine to keep it in shape.

Where in his post did he state his age or a desire to street race? Just because it's his first car and a low dollar value doesn't tell you anything..I couldn't afford my first car until my mid 20's because I was too poor. Also we don't know if his parents are paying for it, why would everyone assume that? Even if they are, it doesnt matter.

I always think it's funny when guys are so proud they paid for their car themselves, but still live at home, dont buy groceries, dont pay bills, parents paid tuition etc..

I wonder if a flame-free 'what car should I buy' subforum would work on revscene. Anywho don't have much to add other than just get a local well-kept civic for under 10k. Fun to drive, reliable if you get a well-maintained one and good on gas.

^ Exactly. Aren't B16 Civic SiRs on the market for around 7 grand these days? They're reliable as long as keep an eye on the oil level and if something breaks (not very likely if you know how to drive), parts are dirt cheap.
