You should be able to find something pretty easy for <$2000 that's solid, provide you don't have huge fingers. Ultimately boils down to how many grams the ring weighs.
Higher karat of gold will cost you more. Bigger the finger size = more gold = higher cost. If you go silver, you can get a big honking ring for probably less then $500. At the $2000 price point, you can probably get something between 12-15 grams.

i dont know much about jewelry but a sterling silver ring like that shouldnt cost you more than $100 considering theres probably less than an ounce of pure silver in there and its so simple.
If you don't want any stones in it, that ring shouldn't cost more than 200$ My pinky ring is the same shape as OP posted but has a Platinum Face on the top (prevents scratching) with the letter B engraved on it (Berzerker motherfuckers) with several Diamonds and it only cost me 900$ Most of that was the cost of the Diamonds.
Don't go to high a Karat in gold though as it will be soft and bend easily when gripping things. As for where to buy any of the stores in most of the malls will have what your looking for. Price match though and go to a few and get cards with prices to compare and haggle the other stores down.
