that time of the year... ants found a way into my home so i need some ways to rid of them
so far im using those tin baits to feed them the poison and hopefully bring it bak to the queen.. not sure if that would work. i heard that liquid ant baits work best, is that true?
worst comes to worst would pest control help me exterminate the colony? if so anyone got any suggestions?
tried searchin but couldnt come up with a solid answer
Buy some vinegar and mix it 60/40 with water. Spray at it or around the entrance area. Should stop the ants from coming back into the house in a weeks time. Do it whenever u you ants crawling.
I used windex which contains vinegar. Be sure to spray the paths that they have walked on. If they keep coming, no worries. Keep spraying. Took me one day to get rid of those ants.
1. Find their entrance to your home. Use vinegar or cinnamon etc to cut off their path. They hate the strong smell. Use several lines of defense if you have to. Make it really really hard for them to come in.
2. Trace the path back to their nest. Use liquid poison near there so that they feed on that instead of going to your house.
I use liquid poison, available at Home Depot. One funny thing about ants, my daughter drew a chalk line around a few ants and they refused to cross it. Worked until the wind blew it all away.
Ants leave trails of odour liquid on the surface of the floor. The vinegar should deter them and destroy the trail. Then kill the ones you see and it should be better.

Ants won't cross a chalk line. Why? It's not entirely clear, but some say the ants don't like the particles sticking to their feet, while others say they're averse to the calcium carbonate in the chalk.

In other words..
I would love to insult you but you wouldn't understand.
try using boric acid, the brand Borax is something you can buy at grocery stores.
Pretty much mix it with water/sugar and boric acid, leave a perimeter of it around your house, maybe put down some boric acid in powdered form as well just for good measure. Kill off all the ants in your house, and the perimeter should keep away the rest.
i had ants crawling up my desk, i just used a lighter and burnt them to a crisp and the dog came by and ate them up. Clean up your shit, only reason ants are there in the first place.
I had ant problem for a few years... I tried all the Home Depot products but its basically just "spot" treatment and they just always moved to another spot...
Ants dont come in for nothing. they come in for food. So clean your counters with vinegar/water clean your cabinets with the same and clean your floor. Then use some poisons to deal with the rest

Even though I keep my apartment spotless, it's older and had small holes near the door to the balcony where ants started coming through. I bought the GreenEarth liquid ant bait from Canadian Tire and they seemed to absolutely love it. Seemed to kill them all because they disappeared after a few days. I sealed all the holes I could around the door and also placed a similar outdoor trap (I think it was one of the Raid ones) about five feet from the door to keep them away from the entrance.
The big mistake people make is that they don't wait long enough with the bait. You have to keep it going for 3-4 days because if there are eggs, you have to kill a few rounds of the ants before they are all gone.
Haven't been to my apartment for 2 months though, hopefully they didn't come back
i had an ant problem near my garage enterance..
poured 99% alcohol in the cracks n holes, soaked it and torched it. watch them all come out from other holes n cracks.. repeat
never came back.. managed to keep my place in one piece.
do it at your own risk
so... i identified them as pavement ants... basically cleaned the entire place - vacuumed every single piece of crumb out of the carpets
now i placed some liquid baits and it seems to be working
the tin baits are crap so for anyone who has the same problem as me get the liquid baits either in the bottled form or in the tray form from green living (found in home depot)
thanks for the help guys..
no interesting pictures to share since i dont think lighting them up indoors is the best idea
