There's like 10 starting QB injuries, so a lot of backups playing this weekend
Ravens play Monday so I'll be able to sleep and watch VODs in the morning all day
I'll be looking at Rams/Eagles and then maybe Cowboys/Bears.
Then SNF, I can't see how the Chiefs don't beat the Giants.. But if they lose, wow
MNF, Lamar on Monday nights is always extra special, and this is a rare home game. Then you have Lamar vs NFC, which he has only lost twice. And we all know what happened the last time these two met up
You never know in football but this could be one of those classic Ravens primetime blowouts - I hope so at least! Lions must have learned a lot of lessons from that last game though so who knows.
Dolphins vs Bills was an entertaining, tight game. Dolphins season started out as a disaster, but I watched most of the Pats game and all of this one, and damn their offensive scheme is still so fun to watch. McDaniel is a fn genius, and if that team is stupid enough to listen to their dumb fans and fire him, he's going to be the highest paid OC in the league, leading someone like CJ Stroud or Cam Ward to a Super Bowl in a few years.
And they're stuck with Tua... Who isn't as awful as people say either, but has some glaring issues. That interception was obviously awful, but all QBs fuck up here and there. That one combined with the roughing the kicker is what cost them the potential to win that game. And what a win that would have been!
I don't know if I've raved about him here yet, but Dolphins center Aaron Brewer #55 is one of my favourite players in the league now. What a fun lineman to watch. On their first TD he blocked two linebackers at once, it was cool to see
K, anything worth mentioning? Just bigger picture stuff cuz I didn't really watch too many extended highlights and I can NEVER sit through a whole game anymore, my ADHD kicks in. Many games I just turn in on the 4th quarter.
1. Cincy is in for a long ride without Burrows. Good for AFC North as they don't have to worry about them near the top. Div title is for the Raven's taking. Minny showing their smarts in moving away from Darnold ... put up JJ McCarthy the rookie but always have an experienced QB (Wenz) in your back pocket.
2. WTH happened in Cleveland, how did GB lose to the Browns??!! Well, the answer is the D ... if you keep GB to 10, you got a good chance of getting the W. Myles Garrett 1 - Micah Parson 0 in this battle.
3. Oh my to NYJ, I heard Justin Fields might have had a concussion but I guess it is confirmed, he didn't play. This was close till the walk off FG.
4. PIT vs. NE Pats. I have no idea how Pittsburgh pulled out the W with AR8's terrible stats. Steelers will win 1, lose 1, win 1, ....
5. Is Indianapolis, the quiet dark horse? Put up 40 points today.
6. KC gets their first W vs. NYG ... Russell, hold the clipboard already.
7. Finally, the one that gave me the most joy ... Chi > Dallas. Caleb Williams had a great day, they were aggressive and going after it from the 1st play, a well deserved win for the Bears.
8. Looking forward to MNF, if both teams are on, it should be a really good game !!
CRAZY afternoon with THREE games with FOUR blocked (what would have been) game winning field goals!
The Brownies beating the Packers in EXACTLY the way I feared could happen last week. If you read my posts, you saw that.. their defense is legit, they hung around for half a game. Last week the Ravens broke the dam with (imo) some good play calling, but the Packers let them hang around long enough that they could steal the game - and they did! The same kicker who cost them the win vs the Bungles won this one for them. Good for him!
Browns will beat other good teams this way this year. They SHOULD be 2-1 right now! I wouldn't be surprised if the other Ravens game goes the other way. You know how it goes
Eagles too, where they did nothing for half a game, then took the lead after blocking a field goal with a couple minutes left, giving Matthew Stafford and the Rams a chance to win with a field goal.. well the drive was masterful, but AGAIN the field goal got blocked! There was no need to house it, but he did anyway
Jets did something similar, blocking the GWFG and housing it for a 1 score lead with 2 minutes left. Except this time the Bucs successfully made the second one. Jets another team that could be 2-1 right now, but are 0-3 instead
I also caught the Bears win over the Cowboys, where Caleb looked excellent and things are starting to click for them. I've been saying if they are going to improve, it's not going to take a couple weeks! They still have a way to go. I think Swift stinks, although he's great once he is in the open field.
Chiefs vs Giants was the shittiest game of the season so far. I don't know if it's a good idea to play Dart full time yet, but I'd go with Jameis over Russ, that's for sure.

Pats need work on their offensive line. Five sacks for the Steelers against my Pats.
Interceptions and fumbles hurt New England badly. Drake Maye, stop throwing picks and fumbling the ball!
Stevenson had two fumbles! More turnovers than a bakery now for the Patriots. Two fumbles on the Steelers 2 yard line.
This is an ongoing issue with the Pats RB Stevenson. He had 7 fumbles last season! -gotta grip the ball with both hands before a opposing player hits him. The opposing team's defence is trying hard to punch the ball out of Stevenson's hands because he's not gripping the ball with both hands and holding on to it for dear life before a player hits him.
Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said Stevenson's ball security issues — he had seven fumbles last season — was something that came up in game preparation.
“It was, but it is every week,” Tomlin said. “We identify opportunities and certainly he had some fumble history last year and so it was an agenda of ours.”
It was interesting to see that Kelce had another heated argument with Coach Reid. They were butting heads during the game against the Giants yesterday. Andy Reid gave Kelce an earful.
Is there "BAD BLOOD" between Travis and Andy Reid?

Really good MNF game tonight, it was back and forth for about 3.5 quarters, TD for TD, both these teams that are playing at a pretty high level in week 3. Detroit played a really solid game on both sides, Goff was on point for a couple of crucial plays, great rushing game, their D was playing pretty possessed with 7 sacks to 0 sacks for Baltimore. Tough fumble for Henry ... is this something to be concerned about? Difficult one ... Ravens have a very tough opponent schedule.
Without looking at "the tape" I think the Lions controlled the game at both lines. "in the trenches" as they say. If Lamar wasn't Lamar this would have been a blowout
The key to beating the Lions is to force Goff to have to make plays out of structure, and you can't do it when they're busting off runs for 5-11 yards consistently, and then run trickem dickem plays at the goal line taking Goff out of the equation. And he can still make good timing plays in structure as we saw with the two Amon Ra passes
If the Ravens can't get their defense in shape, this season could get ugly. But these are the games that get them there. They're scoring 30-40 points per game the first 3 weeks, and lost 2 of them. That is just ridiculous
I also didn't like seeing Derrick Henry lose his mind after the fumble.. yes 3 fumbles in 3 games is absurd, but it was a great punch play by one of the best defensive players in the league. Seeing him throw his helmet around and falling down he looked like a toddler having a fit
Big annoying edit:
Since I got to read I think the point he was making
"Why have the Ravens been unable to win close games?"
I came across this "fun fact" This 8 point loss is the biggest loss Lamar has had since 2021, including playoffs. Yes there was a garbo time score, but that wouldn't have happened if Montgomery had gone down to kill the clock instead of scoring his TD (actually if Baltimore had recovered the onside kick, that TD could have been really really bad, and I doubt he makes that mistake again despite the outcome)
So anyway, I guess you could say the losses are all close games because the offense is good, and that makes it look like they lose more close games than other teams. Scoring 30 points in a game where the other team had two 95+ yard drives, how often does that happen? Most teams that let that happen are probably not going to be within 1 score by the end.
But still, game changing plays happen, like Henry's fumbles in both this and the Bills game (both great punch plays btw). They shouldn't have to rely on scoring 40 points a game to win. Defense needs to figure their shit out. And hang onto the ball Derrick!
My Broncos have played a lot better than their 1-2 record would suggest... losing on a penalty call in game 2 and then allowing a TD and field goal in the last 2 minutes yesterday... fuggggggggg
Hopefully they turn it around record wise, last 2 weeks have been very frustrating ways to end games.

Broncos having to deal with the ascension of the Chargers and the Colts is pretty much just as tough as facing the Bills and Lions. We're still not sure if the Colts will be for real by the time the playoffs come, but as of week 3, they are just as good as any of these teams! They have only punted once all season!
But then you get to play NFC East and AFC South, and their AFC East matchup is the Jets and AFC North match is the Bungles. Just hope they don't fuck around and let the Raiders steal a game
Bungles game next week, a very winnable game. Good luck!

What Luke Wilson said in the post-game comments about the Ravens was that in games when the score is close between two teams, such as the game on Monday between the Ravens and Lions, the Ravens make some mistakes in execution. For example, a fumble.
Is it just the Ravens make mistakes in crucial moments of a close game or is it also the opposing team just executing on defence and making the big play to put pressure Lamar or sack him?
Man Ravens have a BRUTAL schedule to start the year, hopefully is eases up on the latter end for them.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. --- The New York Giants are planning to bench quarterback Russell Wilson in favor of first-round rookie Jaxson Dart after three games, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Tuesday.
Fun divisional game for TNF, which got wild near the end as the Cardinals offense randomly came to life after their defense kept them in it. Teams with dominant defense - especially run defense - are so good at stealing games away! I wish Calais came back to Baltimore
Seattle is great fun to watch, especially if you're a fan of heavy personnel, run blocking with some bombs thrown in. I noticed this one right away on their first drive.. I point it out here, because I will be keeping an eye on games to see if anyone steals it. Any team that runs a lot of 2 TEs will be interested:
Quad bunch formation up top with empty backfield. They have RB, WR, TE, TE, and then the LG pulled out to help block. That is a HEAVY screen, and K9 gained like 20ish yards on this play. AZ didn't stand a chance on this play
ANYWAY there's some fun games to keep an eye on this weekend:
Vikings @ Steelers - Not super interested in this game, but it's a rare prime time game for me (starts at 9:30pm for me since it's in Ireland) so I get to watch one extra game live this week
Eagles @ Buccs - Are the Buccs for real? They usually play the Eagles well, so this is a big game
Colts @ Rams - Are the Colts for real? The offense looks perfectly designed and Danny Dimes and Jonathan Taylor are playing it in structure. I consider the Rams a true top 5 team, so let's go
Titoons @ Texans - Are the Texans a total bust this season? Titoons should be an easy win, so if they lose here, it's tough. That being said, divisional games are always weird
Chargers @ GAINTS - Dart's first Start will be interesting to watch
Brownies @ Lions - Browns have an elite defense, will they steal another game from a top NFC team?
Packers @ Cowboys - Micah back in Dallas is kind of a perfect SNF story that they will talk about non stop driving us crazy as the Packers blow the brakes off the Cowboys
Ravens @ Chiefs - This is a game to watch, I guess

BTW if anyone is looking to nerd out over "The Tape", here's a breakdown of that sick Seattle empty quad play that I was gushing over yesterday (along with the rest of Darnold's game)
And yeah I post this channel all the time, but it's great. Patreon too!
