who the F*** is 7783302270??

been receiving this phone call for the past 7 months
Voice message calls home phone and says " We have a great business opportunity for you please stay on the line"

My dad picks up the call again and again then comes to me and ask who called.. ( my dad doesn't know any english) and i told him not to pick up the call if he sees 778 330 2270 but he still does.. =.=
I'm worried is some kind of scam tracking device and will get a hold of my home address.

what to do?

edit: 2 of my friend receives this call all the time too =/ and they owe no debt...

Quick google search points to CBV collection services, in other words, a debt agency.

A reverse lookup on a home phone number typically gives you the address.

If you use shaw home phone, dial *60 and following the prompt to block this number.

Bahhbeehhaaaa 09-06-2012 08:17 PM

Dont think so. I have the basic home phone and it comes with it.

With todays cell phone plans I'm really surprised when I hear people have land line phone numbers

BaoTurbo 09-06-2012 09:20 PM

Yea back in high school, I got buddies' families who all have their own cell phones and didn't bother with home phones anymore. That was 5 years ago already

It could be a scummy parking lot ticket, or it could be a wrong number, or it could be a company looking for the previous holder of your #. Don't worry. If you don't do something fucking retarded like give them your bank account #, its pretty unlikely for it to be an issue. Call them and tell them to fuck off if you are really worried. I was getting 2 calls a week from a collections agency for a while looking for the woman who had my number before I did.:suspicious:

BigTrollFace 09-06-2012 11:08 PM

Yeah unfortunately...to connect to the monitoring centre.

Somebody needs to figure out how to provide home security without the land line.

I think the same way. The only catch is that my family has used the same landline number for 20+ years. Its even older than my youngest brother lol. So we don't want to give it up..............
