Nrg removable hubs: legalities

So I had some jeep owner try and tell me that my nrg removable steering wheel hub is illegal and could be ticketed for???

Can anyone confirm or deny this???

I googled it, but i couldnt find anything that had anything to do with canada, just the states

And yes, this on an older civic with no airbags

Suggest you ask a Provincial Inspection Station to look in their ring binder at the steering wheel specifics. I know there is stuff like slack travel and wheel dimensions but I've never come across what you are asking.
