NV4_disp error help Got the blue screen of death with this error. I messed around in safe mode used updated nvidia drivers with no success so I decided to just do a clean install of windows. Unfortunatly the same problem happens (screen goes crazy with multiple colors). When I run it in safe mode I uninstalled the video card and the laptop will now run in VGA mode but now the resolution is skewed as the right setting is not on the options (only 2 options). Is there a way to use a generic svga driver? This laptop is only for work so no gaming. Or is my graphics card fucked? Posted via RS Mobile |
Had a similar issue way back when and it was a defective card. Might be different for you though. |
most definitely that somethings gone if a clean install doesnt work. Prob is your video card since you see random crazy colours. |
Is there an option to run svga without the video card working? VGA does but it doesn't run smooth. Posted via RS Mobile |
somewhat of a long read but to absolutely rule out bad driver install check here: Ultimate Nvidia Driver Guide for Uninstalling and Installing driversets I was running into problems after a new driver so I gave this a go and it worked |
