You might as well also tell the Americans to forget about 9/11. More people die from their healthcare system than the bombing of 9/11. They then use this justification to go all out in the middle east and ruin million of civilian lives. But that's okay, war on terror to protect Americans!. Terror that the Americans put in power to try to control the middle east. See? Same shit different story. That's just how humans work. I learned that not everyone can forget or forgive so easily. Only time and reflection will heal those who hate. Then there are still ignorant people who cannot let go, but that's also part of human nature. For me, the biggest problem I have with Japan is that they are not retelling true history to the next generation. The point of history is to learn from it, but how can you learn if history is manipulated for someone else's advantage? I guess what I'm trying to say is that for all of you who are trying to paint the protesters or the Chinese in bad light for this issue are ignorant. For god's sake, we had a one day riot for a hockey game. This has to do with threatening their own homelands sovereignty. Sure, right now it may be just a island, but that's also what hitler said to the allies. "I'll just take a piece (insert land here)". What makes you think they won't keep pushing the envelope and grab more land? Whether the CCP is purposely letting riots go out of hand or that they really cannot control such a large protest, we cannot know. Perhaps this protest is infact from built up hatred between these two countries. What I don't understand is why Japan would buy a highly controversial island right now. Are they trying to cause a shitstorm in china, knowing that there is a change in power? Just food for thought Posted via RS Mobile |

Thank god the Chinese government is so open, forthcoming, and honest that they don't have this problem. |
This sino-japanese history is just a tool of the gov to get people worked up. Let's be real here it's all about oil and gas. And I'm glad that this isn't happening here. Bay Area Chinese-Americans protest Japan's purchase of disputed islands - San Jose Mercury News |
These protests will all end when Sora Aoi's porno is uncensored. I be fuck this shit, I'm going home to FAP. |
^ they are uncensored, you just don't know where to get them :lawl: |
To get back on topic, the Diaoyu belong to China as evidenced in texts that go back to the Ming dynasty and International maps. I am surprised there is not even earlier evidence as Chinese are one of the oldest civilizations and have over 5000 years of recorded history. At one point historically, I believe they had one of the world's greatest navy's. If you trace the lineage far back enough, the Japanese were once Chinese people. What is Japan's evidence? That they annexed the islands in 1895 (which isn't that long time in the history of humans if you think about it)? That the Americans seized the islands from the "Japanese administration" and made a back room deal to hand it back to them after WWII? What gives America the authority to make such deals over other countries sovereignty when they are not even present and in agreement? This is frankly null and illegal. Although this is political and sensitive issue that can at times get very heated, I'd like to hear other peoples comments and keep discussing this in a mature way. |

Posted via RS Mobile No doubt this issue is also about oil grab or the possibility of oil reserves. China is also disputing with the Philippines for this other island. However, these problems wouldn't have happened if after WWII, USA and the other countries who are giving back land to the original countries did a better job. If you know a little bit about history, the problem with Pakistanis and Israelis was that they were promised the same piece of land. Now they are still fighting with each other. Why don't you tell the Pakistanis to stop fighting and suck it up? Same with the Philippines island dispute. The only reason Philippines believe the island is theirs is because of the economic zone relief that USA granted them. They didn't give a shit about the island before they found out there might be oil underneath. Maybe this issue doesn't hit most of you close to home, so you do not look at the point of view that this is also a sovereign invasion, and a test of boundaries. How would you feel if USA started to buy islands that were very close to us? Wouldn't you be a little skeptical at the very least? |

^^ nope coz if the USA does a stupid thing like that all Canada needs to do is stop selling them power and spring water (USA have been buying our power and water for a long time). See how long they last withough power and water. |

Same thing with the Chinese Nationals. They were oppressed, they are second class in the social ladder next to the Japanese. What may not be a big deal to the Japanese could be a huge fucking deal for the Chinese. In this case, a strategic move to claim the islands may hurt the socio-economic relationship between Japan and China. Is it worth it for Japan ? Depends on what's in those islands and if trade between Japan and China is not damaged as much for Japan. |

reading through this thread and people talking about what the japanese did to the chinese back then...all i can think about is anri suzuki willing to sleep with chinese students in japan to say sorry... :troll: |
If there are gas reserves over there, imagine what's going to happen up North. Watch Vice Rebel Settlers for Israeli Palestinian dispute over land. |

Plus, USA is probably the ONLY country in the world that can be self-sufficient in three things: natural resource, food and military power/technology. This is what makes USA so dominant. China doesn't have enough food and natural resource. Russia doesn't have enough food. Germany doesn't have natural resources, Japan doesn't have military power and/or natural resources. I'm not a pro-American guy, but other countries probably wouldn't survive anywhere nearly as long as US if US decides to lock itself up. |
Just goes to show how China will always be a third world country pretending to be a first world nation. Ridiculous. |

If we are so self righteous, should we not give the land back to the native North Americans? At the end of the day, it's a cruel world and the one with most power wins. Let's not get too excited over the riots. I think we should realize that people just like have some fun on the street. Herd mentality. Which is more idiotic, us destroying our city over losing a hockey game or the Chinese mad at the Japanese? I have to say though, nationalism is not healthy, we have been brainwashed into accepting that patriotism is a virtue, while it is really but racism at the end of the day. Those who are so into criticizing Chinese this, Chinese that need to learn more about the country before make over generalized statements. |
The thing about US and China is that people in US have choices. Whether they are given or self-motivated, there are choices. In US, any and all event would be questioned. Even when proven to the point that's impossible to say otherwise, people who don't want to believe can come up with some conspiracy theory and believe in that. Nothing wrong with it. Chinese can only think in ways the CCP allows them to. In theory, Chinese could question anything but the CCP. But realistically, CCP educated the Chinese society to not question. The majority of population takes every "truth" as given. CCP wanted Chinese to think Japanese are bad people and it allows actions that support such idea. They called it "reasonable." :rukidding: Traditionally, Chinese are great people: Hard working, smart, and usually have great discipline toward many different aspect in life. Nevertheless, CCP fucked it up by brainwashing them. |

Hard working? Look at what's happening with the young generations on Chinese. I am not sure if you follow the news but a ton of new university students can't even take care of themselvies(they don't know how to cook, do laundry, clean their rooms.....). Therefore their parents have to rent a place near their university and help thier kids to live.......... I am not sure how they will grow up to be once thier parents are gone. One studend even gone as far as sending her used underwares, socks and clothes back home so her grandma and wash them.......... Also, you have all these rich family with kids who are spoil to death. They think since they have money or power they can do what they want. While the poors get suprass. It will be intresting to see how China will be in 20+years when most of the family is pass down to these kids........ At least in N.American we can taught to take care of ourselves....... |
^ That's why I said, "traditionally". :fuckthatshit: |
