Torchlight 2
 

Anyone excited for this game? I've been reading up on it a bit, and it seems like its everything Diablo 3 should have been.


Comes out in 2 days for $20 via steam, or $15 each if you buy a 4 pack. Im thinking of buying the 4 pack (group buy perhaps?)

buddy was telling me about this. if its only for 15 (groupbuy price) i may be interested. spent so much on games this month :( [borderlands 2, guildwars 2]

the first one was awesome. I'm hoping they kept the game play been waiting a long time for it.

Just got torchlight 1 with the humble bundle 6. Maybe we could get us all on there before?

hearing good things about this game... down for groupbuy if there is one

started to play veteran mode, pretty fun.. Similar to Diablo but you g
et to choose own skills trees. The map changes take way too long to load though.

Even with SSD?

I don't have one, but my friend who has a cache one takes a long time as well to load.

Thinking of getting this game. How much better is it compared to the first one?

My load between areas take like 5 secs?

Heard there was no multiplayer for the first game but it's in the 2nd one so I assume is quite drastically better.

Also heard that you can play offline and you can have that same character online too...which is pretty cool

Thinking about getting this game after more reviews come out lol

Really thinking of getting this. I was kind of disappointed with D3 but this looks better! I didn't like the lack of character customization in D3 because of the skill system, I hadn't played D2 but in WoW builds were a big part of the game so I missed that element.

That's generally the difference between MMO's and "Dungeon Crawlers", less customization, more about story.

Gonna try Torchlight 1 tonight and see if I'll be interested in 2. There goes my GPA.

Edit: Just played about the first hour or so of Torchlight 1... I need the second one

is it worth playing 1 for the story before playing 2 or is reading up on it good enough?

Haven't played 2, yet.

But, to tell you the truth... Torchlight 1 doesn't really have much story. It was a hack and slash and nothing more. Very fun, but I found that it lacked the story in which D2 had.

so the verdict is, this is worth getting? :D

Yes it's worth the $20... the loot is phenomenal and so unique.
