That's the amazing thing with animals - they don't compare themselves to others and get bent out of shape because they're not the same, or can't do the same things. This cat has only known life this way, so for all he knows, he's perfectly normal... FOR HIM. He does what he enjoys and doesn't mope over things he can't do; he doesn't care that we consider him strange or goofy.
Same with the dog with the gimpy front legs - sure stairs are challenging for him, but they've ALWAYS been challenging for him, so the way he climbs them is just normal for him.
