I'm ok with showerdoor-less showers, but not really what pics have shown. There was a trend from Japan originally where they started splitting the bathroom into 2 or 3 rooms instead of just one single room. Many of the modern bathrooms in SFH take similar design approach Edit: argh... pic not working. In essence, you'd have a bathroom, and within that space where the bathroom is located, you split them. You go into a washroom, you'd see the sink/couterspace first. Then on either side of them, often either an actual door or a wall you'd find the toilet and shower/tub area. The advantage of this is, especially if this is a master bedroom ensuite, the couple don't need to deal with the awkward moment when one wants to shower while another wants to do their business. |
All the floors on Trump 55+ had somthing similar Basically your shower and Tub are in a huge open ensuite, the counter and sink are outside of the enclosure but everything else is within one big room without windows or a curtain etc. I think generally that style is what higher end builders are going for recently when the space allows for it. Generally a standard Vancouver lot does not have the space to facilitate this unless you’re willing to eat the space of a small 3rd bedroom etc |

Yes, it's less "open" per se. But function-wise, I still prefer this approach. Never have to worry about bathroom floor being wet when someone is taking shower. Of course, if you've got a nice big lot and a 3000sqft+ home, you can do this in a much "proper" way. |

Awkward ? How is taking a shit in front of your wife awkward ? You in some sort of a weird religious tawainese cult where you can’t even take a shit in front of her ? If so I got the answer for you bro. Stick it in her ass. Go to brown town and then all your taboos are laid bare. Plus it’s payback for watching her squeeze that bloody cantalope out of her hooo haaaa |

Yeah I'm on board with not being in the room with my wife when one of us is taking a dump. I can't think of anything that pressing where I need to be in the room while she's on the toilet. I imagine if we ever get to that point it's because our relationship is basically roommate status where we never fuck anymore and the only shits we give are on the toilet with the other person in the room. |
dafuq man, why would anyone want to be in a room with someone else taking a shit??? i don't care if it's my wife, that's just disgusting. |

He's pretty much got no choice but to take massive dumps in front of his wife or vice versa as everyone is fighting for that tiny bathroom. Like it not, dems the ropes for city living nowadays. |
I'm in a 1 bedroom condo and I somehow I avoid it! If I'm super super desperate I will run over to the amenities building and use the washroom over there... but that's like once in a blue moon scenario |
Lol the toilet in my master bath faces my wife's sink so if I'm on the toilet while she's using the sink, she can see me in the mirror and I'd be facing her butt. However, the door is directly on her left and opens towards the toilet so if you open the door to 90 degrees, it blocks our view of each other and provides some privacy. |
IBS crew checking in :okay: Also this conversation is peak RS 2024 |

Before as a blue collar conductor, I’ve seen all kinds of things related to dudes having to go. Bushes, rail yard, beside other box cars, etc. we always try not to use the head on the engine as the smell permeates the entire cab. Nothing to be ashamed. Similarly I don’t find it disgusting to take a shit in front of my wife or vice versa. We don’t even close the door and we have full on conversations while taking a shit. Just don’t fucking come to my house and pee standing up. I’ll stab your pee pee with a bic pen |
