Maybe Tupper will see a big upgrade with all the Development Cost Levies from the surrounding redevelopments.

Gerbs 05-11-2021 12:50 PM

I went to DT as well in early 2010's, but no major stabbings. I think seeing DD's in every grade was just a way of life growing up. Always going to have good and bad apples. There were a few DT grads that have died from gang violence though.

I mean I'm not talking like 10 girls, maybe like 2 but at a time where I'd never see a single one in any year book from any school that was a lot.

I was at Tupper in the early 90s. There was a program for teen moms at the time, don't know if it's still there. But yeah, people used to comment all time about the mom/baby grad photos in my yearbooks.

Hondaracer 05-11-2021 05:00 PM

The only HS around me that you ever heard that same thing was Guildford Park lol

JDMDreams 05-11-2021 05:17 PM

I don't think we had any teen moms in highschool but I did know of some accident pregnancies in early 20s

Hey man, I just got an email that from Perks that Bosch has an additional 10% off if you spend over $2K+

Hopefully you can get a price adjustment if your order has not been shipped yet.

Geez just another reminder that that dream of upgrading to a home will never happen lol. Thank god we got a townhome instead of that starter 2 bedroom condo when we bought or else we'd be screwed.

I’ll be stuck in a 1 bed plus den for the rest of my life. I’ll take it if it means I’m not paying 60% of my income on a fucking mortgage though. Shit’s fucked.

Esp as a car person, wouldn't you want to have your own garage though?

That was my primary motivation to get out of our apartment and into a house instead. Ironically, the place that we ended up with has a garage, but the garage doesn't have the space that I'd need to be able to work on my own cars...

Just out of curiosity I calculated the commission on that house. Goddamn.

Wow the buyer must have really wanted that property... it’s assessed at $2.469!

CivicBlues 05-12-2021 03:49 PM

The fuck? Does that place have shower right over the toilet? Cause that photo makes it look like it

That's some Asia apartment level shit.

68style 05-12-2021 03:54 PM

I like how the prices of places have gone up about 15-20x in the last 30 years but real estate agent commissions have stayed the same percentage.

Whole years salary at a good fucking job selling or just repping a buyer for 2 houses. Kind of ridiculous?

Alpine 05-12-2021 03:56 PM

4m for east side??? Wtf what world are we living in lol.

Obviously I’d love that but there’s no point in having space to put stuff if you can’t afford stuff.
Even if my income doubled we aren’t affording a 1.6 million dollar house, so what’s the point?
My mortgage would go from $1500 a month to 6k a month to live in a house. That’s a lot of vacations, car parts, dinners, and retirements.

To be fair, most realtors I know do not charge full commission. They give a % back to the buyer/seller.

68style 05-12-2021 07:27 PM

You must only know shady or crazy hustling ones then cuz most of them don’t give up a dime, some of my friends flip condos and did like 10+ deals with their realtor and never got anything back

bcedhk 05-12-2021 08:45 PM

my in-laws got one, $10 Starbucks gift card from the realtor after purchasing a 900k condo.

HOW GENEROUS!

Peturbo 05-12-2021 08:50 PM

Me and wife have done two purchases. Gotten a kick back on both deals with different realtor each one.
Assumed that was the norm.

I bang my pots and pans while singing "In the Arms of an Angel" every time a sfh is sold.

So beautiful, so courageous

bcedhk 05-12-2021 09:35 PM

I also don't get why realtors are entitled to earn that 2.5% after 100k... it's not like they require that much more work to sell say a 500k home vs a TH at 1 mil nowadays?

Even with the extra staging required, it seems crazy for them to have 30-50k EXTRA.

twitchyzero 05-12-2021 09:36 PM

few of my hs teachers were tupper grads and said it used to fare better (in the 2000s a student was beaten to death, the suspect was from my school)

now i work in the area and see a fair number in tech, medicine etc.
wouldn't be surprised if it's a pretty decent school now

I went to Tupper and Gladstone mid-late 90's. They were both at the bottom of the academic scale, lol. But I saw a lot more while at Tupper. I remember that kid being beat to death on the news.

Ditto, although not cash, my realtor gave a hefty Home Depot gift card. (I wonder if that's tax deductible for them...)
