saw it last week and its a decent movie for what it is. They could of done a whole lot more with the subject but once it was done and over you couldn't help but think how the future would be changed since the rainman should hopefully be different and save him since he will know who it is. I just think they should of made it dark killed him and just drove off into the sunet.

telekinesis part wasn't necessary at all

IMO a lot of movies are moving towards an ending that isn't 'perfect' nowadays .. that leave the viewer to draw their own conclusions. Inception was like that, almost any movie that requires you to think does that. I don't know if I like that or don't.

Although the rainman was different, he (looper) still killed himself. At the point which he killed himself, only the future him was there with him; There was no 'past him' with him. Had the 'past' him been there, the 'past' him could still live his life. If that makes sense. .


I know what you're trying to get at. Think about it in the context of the looper, and his future self being present. If his futureself had died, he could still live out his life. Same thing here, since no past-self was present his death meant total death. That's my take on it

You kidding? The kid's telekinesis is what allowed him to become the (future) mob boss in such a short period of time.

30 years isn't really that "short" of a period. There were other ways of letting the kid becoming the mob boss without telekinesis. The movie threw in the aspect of telekinesis when it doesn't really have anything to do with looping, and closing loops. Sure, giving the kid such a huge power can give the story a quick explanation, but it was kind of lame.

why not just send people to other loopers than than yourself to be killed? no possibility to let your loop run

maybe cause the looper needs to get his payment first? and i guess you could say that they could zap the money separately but maybe it's prohibitively expensive to suddenly double the amount of time travel.
