on a side note, has anyone seen this unicorn for sale before?:

this was the only autoart that i noticed. most of the other stuff was domestics from ertl, greenlight, jada, etc..

something that was of interest to me was that they sold led lighting kits for various applications, from planes to cars to police and emergency vehicle setups.

I've seen that Metrotown auto accessories store beside the pet store carry the Mugen Integra before. Not sure if they still have it though, this was a month or two ago.

thumper 03-19-2015 04:46 AM

i was thinking of doing this (but with a little less rice with carbon instead of kevlar weave because i can't find the kevlar locally)

I think akinari means autoworld? Ive seen one on different occasions there. Waaaay to pricey for me but iirc it was somewhere between $250-300 for one

thumper 03-19-2015 07:48 AM

oh my bad... there is a pet shop next to autoworld?

i don't want to hate on autoworld, but with the prices they charge it's hard not to. they have a lot of nice vintage stuff, but that might be because no one can afford to buy them so they just sit for a very long time, and their prices climb as they become discontinued :o

TL_99 03-19-2015 08:06 AM

I have been to autoworld for few times over the last month or so, do not recall seeing the mugen dc5 there. strange.

thumper 03-19-2015 09:07 AM

daaaamn. i've been googling for ideas and found this... i wish i had the time. money too.

Thumper, that blue DC5 for $60 is a steal, I've been looking for an AA DC5 for the longest time but they're all overpriced on Ebay, I'd pay you more then $60 for yours if you want to sell it to me lol.

thumper 03-20-2015 04:30 AM

omg. you are like the third person to ask... where should i start the bidding at? :D

DIECAST CARS & RESIN MODELS!!!!

Has anyone been out to see this guy's place? I exchanged emails with him briefly and he was like "Come by anytime and take a look!" and I was like... man... this dude is crazy inviting random people from CL to come to his house and check out his collection hahaha he told me everything is for sale. I haven't been yet.

thumper 03-20-2015 07:25 AM

i nominate you to go first.... unless you buy everything and leave nothing for us.

!Kodamu 03-20-2015 08:10 AM

He would be late to the party as most of the cars are gone. I took these photo with Tofu when the guy first had his ad up.

ooh. you've got my attention, but i hope it's not a box of pocky sticks... besides, don't you already have four dc5r's?!? :lol

twitchyzero 03-20-2015 08:38 AM

geez louise the man had like 20+ duplicate of the same car...imagine trying to keep all the boxes for those models, he'll need a costco warehouse for them

thumper 03-20-2015 08:46 AM

i know collectors that buy in pairs with one going in storage and the other for display but yeah this is a bit much...

excuses... jk.

wilkinsons has that kyosho for a lot more money than what this guy is asking for, so i was thinking it might be a good buy... but for me i know it has good collector value but as a diecast on it's own it's very dated and could have been better.

why is it no one else will do the supra? i think there was jada and whoever made the fast and furious version (ertl?) and neither were that good.

tofu1413 03-20-2015 09:06 AM

yeah the Ertl one was pretty bad.

the proportions were completely off. the wheels were a joke.

The paint and decal quality was decent for the F&F orange supra though.

i just got an email back from the seller. he says he still has 500+ models left?

i am thinking of going there after work today, but i am not sure how to deal with this because usually there is a specific model and a price in mind... not sure what to expect here and how much $ to bring. how did you and tofu handle this?

tofu1413 03-20-2015 10:17 AM

went to look at models in person first.

made a list of what we want.

went home and emailed him back to what we want. he gives us his asking price.

thumper 03-20-2015 11:30 AM

were his prices good? i am going to assume so since you keep going back for more lol

EndLeSS8 03-20-2015 11:53 AM

Contacted the Kyosho guy, all sold. Too bad, was kinda looking to buy the Supra
