2013 Accord Coupe

I'm in the market for a 2013 Honda Accord coupe. It'll be coming out next month. However, I won't be looking forward to the buying process. Any recommendations on Honda dealers (GVRD) or managers who won't try to rip me off?

donjalapeno 10-18-2012 03:19 PM

why would you think any managers/salesman would want to rip you off in the first place. Do your research, go in knowing all your info and your good to go. Their wont be much of a discount price on new cars.

Vancouver Honda was pretty good to us when we bought our used Odyssey.

I'd rather avoid places that charge unnecessary things such as documentation fees.

Well, since we can't negotiate on MSRPs anymore... Almost all dealers would offer the same prices.

Hondas gone down the shitter in terms of competition with other brands. Sure you can lease a civic for 200, but accord v6 coupe? :lawl:

Thanks for taking one for the team though, I'd love to read reviews on the new coupe and see it at meets :)

All dealership goes with the what the Web Site states. Pretty much go on the Honda website print out what you want and show it to the sales person. This will prevent them from over charging you eh

I've seen and driven the 2013 sedan accord, and it looks really good. im so glad honda finally put out something that doesnt look like garbage..

styling is great both inside and out. they are now direct fuel injected (means better fuel mileage) and the auto comes with a cvt transmission (something totally new to honda-- which can be a really bad or good thing considering their shit trannys in a lot of the older models).

little neat things are the keyless start (pretty common on new cars), sideview camera on the dash when signaling, and an annoying beeper when youre following too close for braking to the car in front (pretty sure it can be disabled if preferred).

the 4 cylinder seems really underpowered though, same as the outgoing generation. thats my personal opinion though. also honda's direct injection is called earthdreams, which sounds pretty fucking stupid to me LOL.

I didnt buy the car, but i do work at the dealer and this is my opinion from taking them out once in awhile. honda is pretty notorious for having issues with their first year of redesigned cars though.. example the 06-07 civics cracking engine block (then again-- it could just be the later gen hasnt hit that age/mileage yet lol..)

A little OT, but anyway thats my take on it. I agree with the above though. youre not going to find any deals on a brand new car, especially when its a redesigned model.

(havent seen any coupes yet)

Out of curiosity...since you have pretty much decided on this car already,
What trim and engine were you planning to get?

It depends....if he's getting the V6, it won't be the CVT transmission.

But again....if you're paying $40k+ for an Accord Coupe V6,
theres lots of better options out there

Accord to C&D (or was it Motor Trend...), the 2013 Accord Sedan V6 is the quickest FWD four-door sedan they've ever driven.

I'm tempted to go test drive one.

Lancerion 10-18-2012 10:21 PM

Interested in the 2013 Accord Coupe as well.

Planning to lease an EX-L V6 for 2 years. The rate is pretty good @1.99% for a newly redesigned car.

Volkl 10-18-2012 11:47 PM

6-speed EX-L V6 Coupe!

Since it's Canada, I don't have a choice with the Navi since it's part of the package.

I'll admit I've looked at the new Accord coupe as I want to upgrade from my 7g, but I simply just cannot justify the price it would cost me to get the equivilant '13 model. In that price range, there are far better options to go with.

Volkl 10-19-2012 07:49 AM

There's not too many choices out there for a sporty coupe in the mid 30s, right?

GTI? Though technically not a coupe lol.

If you're looking at a 40k coupe, then buy a used something 2~3 years old.

unit 10-19-2012 08:56 AM

ive checked this car out at honda and i thought the double lcd display was really ugly.
the touch screen is just so bad looking.

Akinari 10-19-2012 10:25 AM

Damn, C&D clocked 0-60 in 5.6 secs on the CVT V6 sedan :sweetjesus:

k3mps 10-19-2012 10:33 AM

a 1 series is around the same price.
a new c250 with a bit more luxury is a few grand more
hyundai genesis, even withe 3.8

in terms of used
a year or two old g37, 328i or even a used 135.

Akinari 10-19-2012 12:36 PM

Pre-owned TL Type-S anyone?

You probably drive something quite a bit faster on a daily basis...or since you work at a dealer, you have probably driven many cars with more power.

I'm saying this because I was just looking at the performance numbers of the I4 CVT Accord, and it can do 0-60mph in 7.5s or so. That's pretty much one of the fastest, if not the fastest I4 FWD mid-size sedan with CVT/AT. The 6MT is even faster at 6.6s...which is nearly as fast as some hot hatches....and much faster than the competition.

Double LCD display is only on EXL models and up.

If you're talking about the C250 Coupe (who sits at the back anyways?), then maybe...but otherwise, you just can't compare C250 sedan and Accord Sedan's spacing. Just try sitting in the rear seats of the C250 and the rear seats of the Accord...day and night difference. Nevermind the 128i....

supafamous 10-19-2012 04:26 PM

Car and Driver has the 4 cylinder/6MT clocked at 6.6 in the 0-60. That's a fricking rocket for a base motor in a midsize family sedan.

StylinRed 10-19-2012 06:28 PM

its nice but i think the Subaru Legacy looks better, and they're the same price and spec basically

Akinari 10-20-2012 12:04 PM

Am I the only one who thinks the new Legacy is one of the ugliest sedans on the road right now? The proportions are just so wrong. The old Legacy was one of the classiest cars on the road, this is just wrong.

Agreed. The current Legacy is pretty hideous. The previous couple gens were better looking particularly the wagons.
