Wait till windows 8 comes out then get a laptop? Looking to get a laptop in around $700 to $950. Should I get one now(there a few good deals out there atm) or wait till windows 8 roll out and then get a laptop with window7 that's bound to go on sale? Don't really care about the version of windows the laptop is running. |
buy laptop, install linux. /thread |
Hold off for four more days and then go get Win 7 laptops on sale. Specs are going to be almost the same except for the Windows thing, and most companies are offering some sort of upgrade deal to get customers to upgrade to Win 8. |
You can get Win8 for a $15 upgrade on all laptops purchased now. |

To be honest, Win8 annoys me. I much prefer the existing layout than this tiled, touch-screen inspired one. Been playing with an RT computer at work over the past while and it hasn't grown on me. If I were you, I'd look for a clearance Windows7 computer and buy Win8 as an upgrade, but don't necessarily install it. This way you have the option to downgrade if you decide you don't like it. |
Yea not looking to get a laptop with Windows 8. I actually wanted a laptop with windows 7 and hoping to get a good deal on them since most manfactures will push windows 8 laptop out. |

In the previous version, I would get better hardware to make it run smoothly. For Windows 8, I would format my hard drive and stick with Windows 7, it completely changed my experience with a PC. Why do they have to make it so complicated and not user friendly. |

After using Windows 8 Release Preview for a few months, I don't find it complicated at all. It's like your good-old regular Windows with changes here and there. Programs/options are still easily found. It probably is personal preference, but I do enjoy the option of using tiles as well as the traditional desktop. |

People will only put up with so much, and if the benefits aren't immediately obvious to them they're not going to be happy with the changes. |

We'll just have to wait and see where things go the next year. |
Windows 8 is why I'm buying a Macbook and Ipad for mobile device and leaving my Desktop on Windows 7 purely for gaming and work |
