Sounds pretty normal. When I was shopping OEM front lip for my s2k, each dealer had different pricing, with differences being quite significant. Take some time and compare, or just go to ebay.

called Acura for a intake box screw, they said $13 bucks, I say F U.

Checked Acura in the states for the same screw $0.50, I still say F U Acura Canada.

If you want to buy a part from the closest dealer but another one has a lower price, simply ask the first dealer to price match the other one. They almost always say yes.

Hmm... When my dad had a Ford, he ordered all his parts from Brown Bros. Gave him a reasonable price

It's frustrating, and the more you think about it, the more pissed off you get (at least that's me). If you have the time, the states always seems to be the place to go, or at least order from.

All dealers will buy the parts from Ford at the same price, however, what they mark up and charge the end customer is determined by the dealer. Ford does not control the retail price of parts, just like they don't control the retail price of cars. It's called an MSRP (Manufacturer's SUGGESTED retail price). Dealers charge whatever they want.

It's more than ridiculous. I'd be happy to support local businesses but I order most things from the states because it's always SO MUCH CHEAPER and usually faster too.

I beg to differ, i've been quoted different prices from dealership to dealership quite a few times. Just recently for a simple light bulb, price went from $5 all the way to $15. Picked it up for $5 from Boundary Mercedes. (Closest location anyways)

Now that you know this is a normal practice in the industry, I would highly suggest you start rubbing elbows with the parts guys and make friends. Parts guys should always be in your "I know a guy who can..." list.

Because you never know...when you really need that part and everybody else is charging an arm and a leg...yeah. That, or buck up and order online.

The attendant/cashier will turn the compressor on if you ask.

The buck goes to a third party, so the employees have always been happy to turn the compressor on in my experience.

Vancouverites don't have any loyalty to gas stations. They'll shop across the street for 0.01 discount in gas. Why should the gas station provide any service for free?

I called Honda in Bellingham, they told me $68, and they'd have it the next morning.
Honda Canada and Honda USA are separate entities. I deal with this all the time at work (Honda M/C dealer). Many times Canada does not have stock availability and the part is listed on B/O for 2 months or whatever. Now, any parts/service guy worth their weight would put in what's called a "Critical Backorder Adjustment" which basically picks it out of the US stock *IF* it's available and usually I'll have the part within two days.

Its not being loyal to any gas station, and its not really a service, they are not pumping your tires for you, are they?

What if they start charging you for using their window cleaner squigees?

most chevrons tend to have air available to check your tire pressure, for free.

If you don't have a gauge on hand, then you could borrow the one from the cashier.

I've always appreciated this from chevron, but I tend to favor shell gasoline.

I also agree, tpms is a joke. Great if it works, but most of the time they are finicky and nothing but problems.

I'm loyal to Chevron, I will go out of my way to find one to fill up at.

..Of course, they're the only stations around that have 94 octane available.

That's not true, I only buy gas at Mohawk/Husky. It's partly due to getting points/money for my BCAA card.

Recently got a quote for a Acura TL starter. Ranged from $320-478 depending on the Acura Dealerships, while Lordco sells it for $220. LOL
