i dont have issues with the thin edges at all, and i have both hands wrapped around the sides all the time. That or my thumb and a bit of my palm is on the screen, fingers behind, when i scroll with the finger of the other hand. No issues at all - in fact, some apps let you write on the screen with portions of the palm resting on it. Penultimate does, and i use it all the time that way.
