Anyone with experience with Daytona Auto Sales?

Did a quick search, nothing came up.

I'm looking to buy a used vehicle from Daytona Auto Sales, anyone have previous experiences dealing with them?

They're located in Surrey:

Daytona Auto Sales
16090 FRASER HWY, SURREY, BC V4N 0G3

TIA!

that place changes their name every couple of years. I looked at a truck there 3 years ago and they claimed it had no accidents and you could clearly see the frame has been replaced. I would never trust any of those car dealerships, I had a friend who has been to most in the area rolling back speedo's on out of province vehicles.

They offered to show me the Carproof report when I come in, I'm kind of worried that they might be able to modify the reports before showing me them.

First time buying a car so I'm kind of inexperienced with this sort of thing.

is it from out of provience at all? remember carfax's only show the damage that was claimed so if it wasn't reported it would not show on the carfax. Remember to grab the vin and run it through aircare.ca as well to check the kms and I would have BCAA come and check it out top to bottom to make sure nothing is hiding. Find out how long the care has been sitting there as well, if its been a while u have to ask yourself why haven't they sold it.

I'm not sure if it's out of province, but I ran the VIN through aircare and it showed 137,000kms in 2008, 140,000kms in 2010, and it showed a test from today at 9:45am at 121,000kms (advertised km's). I'm gonna ask them about this... should I be worried?

Also, it's a BMW so I was planning on taking it to Nixon for inspection. Do you think they'll let me take it all the way there?

sounds like they rolled back the kms to me. check the speedo if it says the 121k report them to ICBC cause that's straight up BS and exactly what I warned you about.

there's a well known dealership right down the road from them(I love apple pie) and all they do it purchase out of province trucks roll back the km's and then sell them at top dollar. no way to track it since it's out of province and they don't have aircare to double check which a lot of people forget about.

glad I could help, being your first car and I'm sure you are excited but just don't rush into things and do as much reasearch as you can. It might take longer then you want but in the long run it will be worth while because you will know what you are getting. It took me 6 months searching for my last vehicle and I can't be happier since I have nothing to worry about.

on the newer vehicles its even easier, just have to take out the gauge cluster and use a computer program to set it what you want and done and really theres no way to tell. I have heard guys roll back 300k on a diesel when they were about to return it and the dealerships had no clue at all.

Murdoc pretty much nailed it.

Take. Your. Time.

No matter what, don't believe what anybody says at a used dealership. Put your Sherlock skills to the test and do research. There's nothing worse than getting cheated out of your hard earned bucks.

I personally will NOT visit these kinds of dealership because I have absolutely no trust in them. You are better off at a reputable dealership even if it cost a bit more.

If the salesman is persian, RUN or be on heightened awareness - my experiences, they play in the grey area.

go and find out if they start giving your BS or ask you to leave report them to ICBC and feel good about it. These dealerships should be gone and luckly with all the knowledge and power of the internet they are not getting away with it like they used too.

Buy pre-owned from a company licensed dealership ( IE, MCL, Honda, BMW, etc ) or right here on the RS UCD

Too many dealerships bringing in damaged cars out of province and fixing it up now a days.

Buying used from a dealership only if you need financing. Their prices are inflated.

Buying from a private seller with cash and taking it to your mechanic is the best way.

I've delt with the place roughly 2 years ago and I have to say they seem to be very shady. I looked at a 07 s2000 they had on their lot for a while, it was a US import from Florida. First thing that caught my eye was their pictures they had on the ad, the car had oem wheels and zero tears in the soft top. When i drop by for a test drive the car had aftermarket wheels and a tear on the soft top that was covered with tape. Second thing that was very suspicious was the discrepancy in the mileage from their ad to the paper work. It would be understandable if the mileage was off by a hundred clicks or so but it was off by 20k!! Customer service was 4/10

Google the VIN number. You might uncover some history

I did it once on a Corvette I was looking at and found out it was involved in a serious accident. It was being sold as 100% clean and original...
