word of advice, don't surf RS if your sister is in the room ;)

just because you dont have epilepsy, have you ever thought about other ppl on RS?

Soundy 10-29-2012 02:47 PM

Better advice: don't click links from Vansterdam. Ever.

You'd be safer clicking asian_XL's links... :fuckthatshit:

And the question remains, how would a spoiler tag have helped?

Since we only have one tag, it doesnt mean its only for "spoliers" or "NSFW", but also to let people know it could be something like this which will most likely trigger a seizure for people with epilepsy.

I dont know, maybe i have over reacted but knowing a family member who has epilepsy and seeing it happen everytime for the last 5 years isnt fun for me. In fact im pretty sure it isnt fun for anyone. Im just a bit sensitive on that shit, thats all.

That being said it's not our responsibilty of what we posted but it's yours for clicking on the links knowing there could be a posibilty of something to trigger a seizure. I feel for you because I'm sure it must be hard dealing with it but the caution has to be with you and not us for this matter. It would be next to impossible to spoiler every link that has flashing that could cause an epileptic seizure.

So you click the Spoiler button, it shows you the link, you click the link without thinking twice... same result.

Hell, this is RS, I bet I could stack a dozen spoiler tags with a warning on each one not to click the link inside, and 99% of users will still click it.

A [flashy_thing] tag would only serve to ruin the surprise and completely negate the point of the link (as lame as it may be)...

Realize where you are and take a little responsibility for your own choices and actions.

That is all.

Honestly, i disagree. You would be surprised on how many people would think twice when they see a spoiler tag and if they still clicked it, the moment they hover their mouse over the tag, theyve already taken responsiblity. But in this case, its just a link that possibly could trigger seizures.

I have absolutely no problem with the guy screaming or popping out, but rather on the flashy lights. Really, theres no "surprise" to ruin on just a flashy thing.

StylinRed 10-29-2012 03:48 PM

sorry to sound harsh but be more responsible then and dont click any and all links available to you

that's just like those people who fall for trojan emails "YOU'VE WON A MILLION DOLLARS CLICK THIS LINK AND CLAIM YOUR WINNINGS"

Didn't join the thread until now... IMO it should stop being a goofball thread now that we know the storm is legit... but that's just IMO

Soundy 10-29-2012 04:31 PM

When did we think the storm WASN'T legit? They've been warning about it for a week now.

murd0c 10-29-2012 04:36 PM

I think right now we are just making light of the situation since it's not really out of control and lucky its dieing down as well.

Liquid_o2 10-29-2012 04:46 PM

Winds picking up to 60-70km/hr in TO right now with heavy rain. Power out in parts of the city. Interested to see how this night goes.

What? Look at the thread, it's nothing but photoshops and jokes. Someone even mentioned they were glad people were making light of the storm...

Soundy 10-29-2012 05:22 PM

Doesn't mean we ever thought it wasn't legit...
