So let me get this straight? the Skytrain is up and running barely hours after a live bomb was found ? (yea I get it was a dinky pipe bomb, but the possibilities are endless)
fck, if this was anywhere in the US shit would be shutdown for days.....

I don't understand the mentality of the police and people here to consider this normal routine behaviour, that it's ok the skytrains are back in service and not even a simple sweep of all other stations has been fully performed yet....
Is Translink calling the fckin shots here or something ? what's the missing link ?

Who right now is assuming this has something to do with the fact that Translink is getting out of control ?? an angry person with a bone to pick??
kind of like the guy who drive by shot up the Telus building few years back when they were getting some bad publicity for something they were doing

dude.... if you are scared to meet other people on Public transit, simply just dont take it. Get your own Private transit to get where you need to go, or go live in a bubble and avoid any social interaction with dreaded :denied: Strangers

I despise sharing the roads with people who choose not to drive proper cars (i.e. BMWs with manual transmissions), but that doesn't stop me from driving on them.

Get over yourself. People beneath you are everywhere - does that stop you from going to work, or living your life?

anyone know what's going on at main street skytrain? A friend of a friend has been stuck on board for the pass 20 min. Something to do with a bomb or something.

areyounoob 11-03-2012 03:53 PM

Apparently there's another thing going on at Main Street Station.

Gh0stRider 11-03-2012 04:00 PM

Main Street skytrain station has been shut down because of a suspicious package found there.
All skytrain traffic been stopped between Stadium Station and Broadway Station.

All clear

Main Stn cleared Skytrain service is returning to normal service but will take a few minutes for get trains back on schedule

TransLink says the package was a woman's handbag with a wrist watch attached to the strap. Expect delays as the SkyTrain backlog clears.

CTV BC tweeted this earlier today:

Transit Police said false alarm at Main St. Stn, object was actually a purse with wrist watch attached, nothing suspicious.

This is the 4th suspicious item that @TransLink has found on #SkyTrain system since ytd's bomb incident in Surrey

Hyper-vigilance, 5th such case since the one in Surrey on Friday.

CTV was saying that the device on Friday may have been there for as long as 48 hours, just lucky that a train didn't run over it...:fulloffuck:

If anyone else was on the Skytrain at around 11AM today, you'd recall it being slow as heck and a medical emergency being called from Metrotown Station.

Here's why.

Suicides and bombs at the skytrain? What is this! Very weird situations happening :(

fliptuner 11-05-2012 10:37 PM

RCMP just detonated it as per Global.

3klipze 11-05-2012 11:02 PM

Knew it. A "medical emergency" is always someone on the tracks basically. Caused me to be late on a good sunny day when i finally woke up early.:okay:

RIP. Suicide is not an answer.

Suicide affects too, too many people. Imagine seeing someone jump into the tracks as a train is approaching. I can't even think about it. Shit.
RIP.

Though switching topics to the bomb threats, it's really odd how there aren't any pics of the suspects floating around on twitter. I'd assume by now there'd be even one picture that has some lead towards the Scott Road bandit, even if it were empty.
