Mature discussion about understanding the opposite sex...
Do you actually know what you love about your girlfriend?
My girlfriend was over and asked me the age ol' question, "What do you love about me?"
I laughed and didn't really have an answer. Then she pressed me about it and I honestly couldn't really think of anything besides the generic stuff. ie. she makes me smile, does cute things, etc.
So does that mean I shouldn't be in love with her, even though I know I am in love with her? If that makes any sense..
IMO, there should be no pride in 'manly silence' because you think guys just don't 'feel' as much as girls do. Not to excuse all girls for being needy/insecure, but you do need to be able to express what you feel about her. Not everyday, but at least sometimes.
I actually can't believe so many girls let guys get away with the whole "I'm not the emotional type" thing.. like when you're watching sports, you don't say "That's interesting, we seem to be down by a point and there is not much time left on the clock".

For me, it's not about being manly. I say and do some pretty non 'manly' things when I'm with her. It's just I don't really know what I love about her? It's like a can't pin point it. We've been going out for a long time, so is it just the amount of time we've been together that made me love her, I don't really know. Posted via RS Mobile
haha, i'm in love with her Glove! Can't just dump her

See, I could say the same things about my girlfriend. But, Would you say those are the things that make you love her? ie. in your instance, you love her because she laughs at your stupid jokes?
Maybe love just means something different to me. So different I can't even explain it?
Yeah, you can rattle off cliche things like, smile, makes you laugh, hair, lips, eye, ass, caring, thoughtful, smart, etc...but it doesn't matter because that is everyone's answer to that question.
Nobody ever says, "I love you because you suck the life out of my soul and you have fucked up teeth".
When you love someone it is indescribable. You just feel it. Its that feeling in your gut when you haven't seen your SO in days, its that feeling of relief when you hug them after being apart, that smile on your face when you see their number on your call display, the 100% commitment that you have to each each others life and success, the 100% emotional support and knowing that they are your rock, that comfortable silence when you are eating dinner, that want to hold their hand, and the fact that your SO is the first person you call when something major/funny/crazy/shocking happens.

To me...thats love and why I love my SO.
Stealing this verbatim!
Thanks!
jkjk. You pretty much hit the nail on the head for me at least.

Meh, she's a person I can spend alot of time with, and not get annoyed/bored/etc with her.

personally its all the little things that add up to why you love your SO. Something that sets him/her apart from the rest of the world that only you would know.
love is basically indescribable... but when asked you automatically think of all the little things she does that make your heart skip another beat.
I don't think there should be a "reason" to love
I love X just because.
If there was a reason...well when that reason is gone I wouldn't love that person anymore right?
i.e. if I loved my boy friend for his looks, when he ages and his looks go away I wouldn't love him anymore.
Gave this explanation to last guy that said he loved me & asked what I loved about him
Told him I like him just because.

It was my exs' personalities that made me "love" them: intelligence, humor, positive attitude and a seemingly unwavering support in anything I want to do.
