winter projects

What are all of you guys working on over the dark, dreary winter months?
For my personal ride (an '09 Subaru STi) I plan on getting some really nice SQ stuff in there. Focal? Morel? Hybrid Audio? Not quite sure yet but I think it'll be nice!

At the shop I'm going to work on a '69 Skylark with some top of the line Focal. Should be pretty interesting?

How about you? Tell us about your projects here!

2 85 Nissans and a Jeep.

Gray Nissan is getting a built motor some time in the next year or so
Black Nissan is getting a full resto. Sat for 9 years not running. It runs again but it filthy in and around the engine bay with rat feces.... heater motor has a blockage, Interior needs re gluing and reassembly.
Jeep needs the dash pulled and the heater core replaced

Upgrade the power wire to 2/0, upgrade the subs or might just do a 4th order bandpass ported through rear deck cause stupid rear seats don't fold.

You should get me to design a new ported enclosure for that 15"...I'll make it sound very nice! And of course pound!

Car is currently in the good hands of English Racing in Camas, WA.

Went down in October for a tune... and unfortunately ended up having to leave her there...

Hopefully she'll be back after winter with a lot more goodies. Looking at new rods, pistons, crankshaft, bearings, etc.

You might already know this but you may have to re-import your car if you're having all this work done to it. But then again it's all engine work so CBSA might not even know the difference lol

When did you get an STi mike? I want to get those same door speakers that Eric got from you, they sound awesome!

I've been doing a lot of soul searching in the sub realm, and i'm still gonna do the IB test, but i plan on hating it.

so I've been looking at new subs, and I impulse bought a 1500rms@1 ohm amp last night so I can go a bit more nuts than before.

for some reason I feel like I have an IA Death Penalty in my future, but with that said, the DD 9500 is similar pricing and i could get locally. So i'm torn.

I want what your RSX did to me that day! could a single 9500 in a huge box with 1500rms do that?

and Ian, get those imagines and a half case of sound deadening! you will like!

Wait, what? LOL. Are you serious? I've never heard of this before...

Long story short, I spun a bearing on the dyno, looking to rebuild it there, re-tune, and then bring it back home.

Definitely going to look into this right now.

I have a 95 Concorde that I have massive plans for. I have already gutted the entire interior, laid out a full blanket of Hushmat, mounted electronic door openers, manufactured a new dash, re-routed all of the wires necessary to make the car run to the new dash center.
I bought BMW M series seats, all of the Arc Audio SE amplifiers, Hybrid Audio 8" Legatia SE woofers for my front floors, Morel Supremo's for my dash speakers and my Arc Audio PS8 processor. I still need a Mac Mini (preferably with a cd drive) and a suitable monitor.
This is going to be one super great sounding car! I would expect nothing but the best for the SoundsGood shop car.
This will make for a very exciting year.

JUst a couple of months ago. I've always liked them! I can hook you up on some Hybrids Ian. Just make sure you run them active as their crossovers are a little...ummm...little.

Hmm...well, your car is a sedan so getting any mind-numbing bass could be difficult. A single 3512 or 3515 should do the trick...or even 2X 3510's will break your face a little bit. 9512 is a little bit too much $$ for the gains you get over a 3512. Plus, you need a ton more power and more batteries. Just some food for thought!

Need more sound deadening in front and rear doors.

Install the new Microsoft surface tablet when it comes out in Jan. It runs the full version of Windows 8. Be the first to do it and get some free online publicity.
