One of my bestfriends and I call/talk on the phone all the time. Sometimes when one of us needs to vent/bitch, other times just as a "hey, what's up, how goes it" type of thing. If you can sit and have a text conversation back and forth where you wait for the reply text....just fucking call them.

Agreed !
Wouldn't it be awkward if you aren't familiar with each others voice
And when you meet up its like sooo awkward Quote:

I think what it is is calling can be a lot of hassle. You might not speak loud enough, people might be around listening, the ambient sound is too loud, etc.
I think this revolution really defeats the connection we build with girls and process of knowing a girl.
Before it was, get number, call her, go on date without much awkwardness because you guys have been talking on the phone.
Now is, facebook, get number, text/msg, arrange date, call to pick her up, go on date with extreme awkwardness because you guys don't even know each others tone of voice, jokes, sarcasm, sweetness, etc. | Posted via RS Mobile |

id prefer to call, the sound of someone else's voice is better than the clicking sounds of a keyboard

I only call when I need answers right away. Otherwise, there are so many reasons to text instead. 90% of the time when someone texts me I'm busy with something, so I can just respond when I have a second. You can think of a response and send it whenever the hell you want, whereas there would almost certainly be dead spots during a call. It's very advantageous to text rather than call a girl you got the number of. Again, you can decide what to say and take your time instead of being put on the spot. Texting is just a convenient, casual way to keep in touch with your friends throughout the day.
Texting doesn't bug me at all, what really does bug me is when you're at a table with some buddies, and everyone is on their phone.
