How can I insure/drive this leggaly

I'd like to buy this and drive it around the city.

Who do I have to talk to from ICBC?

Soviet Armor :: BTR-80

yray 12-03-2012 08:36 PM

how about figuring out if you're allowed to import it first

snails 12-03-2012 08:40 PM

i think the first step is too get your tank licence.... :concentrate:

El Bastardo 12-03-2012 08:44 PM

Soviet Armor :: WLA-42

This is awesome and priced cheaper than most used garbage Harleys from the AMF era

shenmecar 12-03-2012 09:17 PM

"legally"

Iceman-19 12-03-2012 09:26 PM

LOL. Good luck. Would have to pass a vehicle inspection to canadian standards. Wouldnt happen.

tiger_handheld 12-03-2012 09:51 PM

open a business with a fairly legit name "Tank Rides"

import tank

figure out how to legally drive it since it's now on canadian soil.

your username would have suggested you wanting a panzer, panther or tiger.

whatever you do good luck lol.

The police probably had a hard time registering this with ICBC..

jpark 12-03-2012 10:37 PM

may i ask why you would want to do so in the first place

bcrdukes 12-03-2012 10:38 PM

You know, he could. http://www.icbc.com/registration-lic...ehicles/u-bilt

He would have to register the vehicle as a kit car and perform the necessary modifications for it to be street legal.

Financially - does it make sense? No.

But hey, whatever floats your boat. :fuckthatshit:

Sky_High 12-03-2012 10:46 PM

OP, you sure you don't want this ugly fish instead?

First you must conquer the country; defeat our current leader Stephen Harper in hand to hand combat. Then as our new found king you shall make it law to legally ride your chariots of fire and steel.

Nope they can drive whatever they want, police cars are not insured by ICBC at all.

Though I will assure you that they tell you "OH BUT I HAVE A BENSIIIIIII OR A BEE EM DABOWYOU"

I saw a huge urban camo 6-8 wheeled police/military tank thing on the road once in langley..no idea what it was what it was sick.

Know of a family in Abby that owns a crapload of tanks, Humvees, misc military vehicles. They can't actually drive the tanks on the roads here because they'll destroy the asphalt. One of their tanks was used in the A-Team movie, and they are used in a lot of other movies a well. Friend of mine went to prom in one of their Humvees.

I believe RCMP carry their own insurance, outside of ICBC.
68Style should know, he managed their fleet assets :p

when my first car got stolen and i called 911 the operator read a waiver to me basically stating that the police force is not liable if there is a shootout, they have to ram my car off the road or keep it for evidents... didnt really give me a choice :pokerface:
