Hope RCMP can use some technology to get the shape of the vehicle, and enlarge the size to match with some suv models. Then they can confirm which vehicle it is.

X1 with black rims(?), surrey RSers, GO!

ree666 12-06-2012 12:00 PM

its definitely an x1, because of the turn signals on the mirror ( "side makers" could be a reflection of of the turning light, wheel well arch, ride height, lines of the window and hatch window and the color matched spoiler. it honestly resembles the chevy traverse but the aggressiveness of the rear windows gives it away that its an x1, to confirm this, see if the gas cap is on the left or the right. If the gas cap is not visible, meaning its on the passenger side, then it must be a x1.

kouki_monster 12-06-2012 01:15 PM

RCMP thinks it's a buick crossover? :fulloffuck:

RS investigation > RCMP lolol

IMO The length of the rear quarter window is longer in that video than the X1
Looking at where the line of the rear door opening is, you can see the kinked window goes a lot further back in the hit and run car than the X1. The shape also seems more defined on the video, and more curvy on the X1. Then again all this might just be the effects from the quality of the video.

The way the car in the video seems to have wheels that look too small for it lead me to believe its an X1 lol. But the way the front fender seems REALLY long makes me feel that it isn't, the car itself also seems really long and the X1 is actually a pretty short and small car.

In the video this almost seems like a sidemarker, better shown in akinari's pics but also could just be a shadow. If it were a sidemarker it wouldn't be an x1

these cameras need to be upgraded to some form of HD... seriously. It would make it so much easier in this case.. and all future problems.

lol same with the frequently used skytrain cameras.... the images and videos are so grainy you cant make out what peoples faces look like. i see pictures and videos from those cameras every week on the news too.

I rewatched the video and there is a split second where there is very little light and you can clearly see the side markers blinking. This was just after the car hit the 2 runners and was just after the cross walk.

donjalapeno 12-06-2012 02:09 PM

black trim
roof rack
lowish

+1

Or they could change the design of intersections. When people are crossing, there should be no green light at all. When the cars move, people don't cross. How hard can it be?

StylinRed 12-06-2012 05:01 PM

So it was a BMW X1 good job guys
