Anyone currently playing this? I've been seeing sprinklings of Ingress on my Facebook, recently. It's an augmented MMO reality game. You capture/attack territory. Looks pretty interesting. It's in closed beta, at the moment, but you can request an invite on the Ingress homepage Ingress (game) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I've been playing Ingress but honestly, it's not that fun. You will be walking around for these designated locations and clicking a button. Click a few more times in some time, and you'll capture this location. It's not really as exciting as the trailer. Also as this is still invite only, there are not that many players in Vancouver, and not that many locations to go to. Since there aren't that many players, you'll soon learn all the names of the "regulars" in your area within 20km. Sadly my two hands can count them all, and they are the only ones frequently chatting in the chatroom saying "yo guys I almost got the public library capture point, someone help me out".
Maybe it'll get better as more players join and more locations are added. Sadly not now.

A buddy just hooked me up with it... took me for a little wander around by English Bay to show me how it works. I didn't think I'd get into it much before, but I found it strangely compelling. Was kinda neat actually, we went to one portal and found another player hanging out there, really nice guy, gave me a bunch of keys and stuff. He was telling us how he was hanging at that spot once and another player came running out of the building across the street in his shorts and t-shirt to give him crap for hacking "his" portal

Played this when it first came out..
Drove around at 3 in the morning to find these portals which turns out to be statues
Pretty fun for exploring the city.
