My gf uses it and I hate it. My only reason is that the channels that you pay for can be all over the place. For example cbc will be on channel 1015 (made up channel) and tsn will be on channel 723. In between all of that will be various time shift versions or channels which you haven't paid for.

That makes it impossible to channel surf whereas Shaw has all the HD channels grouped together 200-254ish. I also prefer the Shaw remote.. Bell's is weird. Small things but they might piss you off too..

If it rains hard you will lose your signal same goes for snow. Have had Bell since they first came out. There customer service is hit or miss same goes for there installers. Booked an install 3 times for another house we own and 3 times the installer did not show up. 4rth time he showed up and he did a crappy job. Only hooked up one TV and ran the wire over the carpet and said some raciest stuff. Complained and they sent a different installer and he did a great job.

They also had big problems when they were doing the free dual LNB upgrades years back. There ads on TV claimed they would be done by the end of summer. Summer went no upgrade, winter went buy no upgrade. Found out they had no installers on the Island. We needed the upgrade to get some channels my parents wanted. In the spring I told them to just send the LNB's and I would do the install. They said it would cost me $100. I'm like WTF. Finnaly a few months later an installer from the mainland came and did the install.

I would not go with Bell. Stick with Shaw.

Edit: I Wish I could get a list of the channels we actually get. It's impossible to to remember all the channels that start from 10 and go to 1933.

Look how long this list is. If printed it's 43 pages long. http://bellsrdu.ca/en/channel_lineup.htm

do you watch a lot of TV? If not, you could probably get away with Bell.

For internet I've only been with Shaw my entire life and I very rarely have problems. If I do it's because they're throttling my connection...

Telus on the other hand, I always have issues at the gfs house. No experience with Bell internet though. Oh Telus TV is pretty crap too. Friend was on it for a week and switched back to Shaw after. Channels were cutting out and there were lots of random black outs. This was all when it first came out though so it might be better now.

I'm obviously biased towards Shaw even though they rape me every month. $100ish for tv/internet

*edit
I just realized I have 200gb limit... time to start downloading! I remember back in the day when it was 50gb hahaha

Are you a post secondary student? Shaw has a pretty good discount for students. Im paying $51 + tax for high speed, basic channels, and home phone.

Check this forum out, Bell Satellite TV Hardware Installation Forum - Canadian TV, Computing and Home Theatre Forums

Lots of reviews, Q&As, etc about Bell satellite.

Hey Manic, what did your installer say that was racist? What was Bell's response when you told them?

I think you press "Guide" twice and choose "sub". something along those lines. it'll narrow down the list to channels that you subscribe to.
