Boxing Day 2012 Thread

Anyone prepare for what to buy this year yet? Only thing I have in mind is a dresser for myself :okay:

Start listing some door crashers and awesome boxing day flyers!

I know Visions has some cheap TVs on sale for the 26th.

Lots of flyers on here:

In all honesty I think the quality of boxing day sales have gone down over the recent years. There aren't many deals out there I'd be willing to sacrifice sleep over, largely due to the fact that most of these "deals" can be had during many other times of the year. "Black Friday" in the states is also wayyyy better than Boxing Day so I spent most of my money last month anyways

I'll cherry-pick around for boxing day deals online on the 24th, won't be lining up for anything on the 26th.
Will be keeping my eyes out for a tablet for les parents (7" or 10", I already own a Nexus 7 32gb and may pick up another one if there's any good deals on it for them)

Looking for an ipad this boxing day. Any deals on?

agree. a lot of places now do boxing week sales already and in most cases it's not worth the hassle on boxing day for the extra 10% off, especially when it's already 40% off during the week

StylinRed 12-22-2012 11:17 PM

doesn't look like there are any deals, it's kind of been like that for a few years now

Gh0stRider 12-22-2012 11:42 PM

Toshiba 39" Class LED 1080p 60Hz HDTV 39L22U - Best Buy

pizzaMR2 12-23-2012 02:02 AM

Any fitness equipment?

Looking for an Olympic bar and maybe try cable (or similar)

HonestTea 12-23-2012 02:25 AM

Just bought a LG 42" LED 1080P 120hz Cinema3D HDTV w/ 2 sets of Dual Play Gaming Glasses for $400. Probably the hottest deal this boxing day :D

StylinRed 12-23-2012 02:33 AM

newegg? for 600?

Harvey Specter 12-23-2012 02:39 AM

Still actually surprised that people look forward to boxing day because most retails start their sales around black Friday and continue all the way into the new year and I rarely see the crazy deals retails had for boxing day like they had a few years back.

The only things I look forward to on boxing day are blu rays that end up costing $4.99 each. Dirt cheap and I can just buy them on futureshop.ca or bestbuy.ca and have them shipped.

Other than that, only people getting crazy deals will be people who receive door crashers.

tiger_handheld 12-23-2012 07:53 AM

if anyone comes across a 55" samsung or lg smart tv. let me know :)
other brands will also be considered. already looked at futureshop best buy.

I'm looking to get a digital camera for my mom, something extremely basic and user-friendly. I'm not too knowledgeable when it comes to camera brands and stuff, for the price, what's a simple point and shoot camera for $200 roughly. Is that too low/high for a basic camera?

Bought the same one, will probably also try for the yamaha 773 at fs.

JesseBlue 12-23-2012 12:06 PM

this day is just an excuse to buy stuff that you think you want but doesn't mean you need it...

with that being said, i'll be looking for great deals on chocolates...hah...

SpeedStars 12-23-2012 12:46 PM

For anyone who's into a small 3D TV for the bedroom, futureshop and Best Buy both have the Playstation 24" 3D TV on sale for $99.99 on the 26th. Original price is $279.99
